Installation of new disks! (ENG/ESP)

What's up friends of #hivemotors today we had to change the discs and adapters of a bicycle whose old discs had been hit and these upon impact are deformed and begin to rub against the pads, of course you can also straighten but the blow had been strong and the disc as much as I tried to straighten it was useless, since the adapter had also suffered damage.

Que tal amigos de #hivemotors hoy nos tocó cambiar los discos y adaptadores de una bicicleta la cual sus antiguos discos no daban para más ya que habían sido golpeados y estos al recibir un impacto se deforman y comienzan a rozar con las pastillas, claro también se pueden enderezar pero el golpe habia sido fuerte y el disco por mas que intente enderezar era inútil, ya que tambien el adaptador habia sufrido daños.

Discs with new adapters, as you can see one disc says 160 and the other says 140. The larger disc always goes in the front and the smaller one in the back, although I usually use both of the same size.

Discos con adaptadores nuevos, como pueden ver un disco dice 160 y el otro dice 140. el disco más grande siempre va en la parte de delante y el pequeño detrás, aunque usualmente suelo usar los dos de la misma medida.

I tried to save some time by taking out the whole adapter and disk assembly but it didn't work, the adapter was too glued to the block.

Intente ahorrar algo de tiempo sacando todo el conjunto de adaptador y disco completos pero no se pudo, estaba demasiado pegado ese adaptador a la manzana.

I had to take out the disc and then take out the adapter and it really gave me problems because of how stuck it was.

Tuve que sacar el disco para luego sacar el adaptador y este vaya que si me dio problemas de lo pegado que estaba.

A long time later and after using a lot of force I was able to get the adapter out but in pieces since the whole thing broke, usually this should not be so tight if tight enough but not like this, anyway the adapter was no longer useful and if it came out broken or not, that would not be a problem.

Un buen rato después y de emplear mucha fuerza pude sacar el adaptador pero en pedazos ya que se partió todo, usualmente esto no debería estar tan apretado si lo suficiente pero no de esta manera, de todas maneras el adaptador ya no servia y si este salía roto o no, eso no sería un problema.

Once the front disc was correctly set and tightened, the only thing left to do was to adjust the caliper so that it would be straight and would not generate any friction with the disc.

The calipers almost always when removing the wheel we have to re-adjust them, it is not in all cases but it happens more often than it seems.

Ya puesto y apretado de manera correcta el disco delantero no quedaba más que ajustar el caliper para que este quedara derecho y no genera ninguna rozadura con el disco.

Los calipers casi siempre al retirar la rueda tenemos que volverlos a graduar no es en todos los casos pero si sucede más frecuente de lo que parece

now we proceed with the rear tire for which it is the same process we have to remove the tire and remove the disc and then the adapter. this time the adapter was tightened to its correct torque and I didn't have to struggle too much, it even came out without breaking.

Ahora procedemos con el neumático trasero para lo cual es el mismo proceso tenemos que quitar el neumático y sacar el disco para luego el adaptador. esta vez el adaptador estaba apretado a su torque correcto y no tuve que batallar demasiado, hasta salió sin romperse.

Again I installed the new disc which in this case was smaller than the one I had on, but this does not cause any problems, just the rear brake will be softer and we will feel a slight decrease in braking power, actually to feel those changes you have to be someone very picky as it is not something you really notice unless you are pushing the bike to the limit.

Nuevamente instale el nuevo disco que en este caso era mas pequeño que el que tenia puesto, pero esto no causa ningún problema, simplemente el freno trasero será más suave y sentiremos una leve disminución de la potencia de frenada, en realidad para sentir esos cambios tienes que ser alguien muy quisquilloso ya que no es algo que realmente te des cuenta a menos que estes llevando la bicicleta al límite.

The only thing left to do is to keep using them so that the pads and discs fit together so that the pads make their bed in the disc.

This was a good job, not very complicated but quite laborious due to the tightness of the front wheel adapter and then in the alignment of the calipers this is something that anyone can do only we have to have common sense and do things in the best way so that everything is excellent!

Fuera ruidos molesto de discos deformados ya solo queda seguir usandolos para que las pastillas y los discos se acoplan para que las pastillas hagan su cama en el disco.

Este fue un buen trabajo, poco complicado pero si bastante laborioso debido a lo apretado que estaba el adaptador de la rueda delantera y luego en la alineación de los calipers esto es algo que cualquiera pueda hacer solamente tenemos que tener sentido común y hacer las cosas de la mejor manera para que todo quede excelente!
