RE: Will the next BTC Halving be like the last one?

BTC halving is a poor design by Satoshi Nakamoto. Because of all the forks on a similar hashing mechanism, it becomes really easy for miners to switch to different networks to optimize their earnings. This was true 4 years ago, but not to the same extent.

BCH halving happened 1 week ago, and we've seen that it took 103 minutes instead of the theoretical 10 min for the next block to get mined. Maybe it's bad luck, but it indicates that about 90% of the miners switched straight after the last block on 12.5 BCH rewards.

A good hacker knows that the overall security of a system, is equal to the security of it's weakest component. For BTC this is in 20 days or so, you can expect hashrate and thus the security of the network to get divided heavily.

I expect some massive dump in the days before the halving, it will probably profit anonymous/privacy coins such as Monero or BSV.

If the halving goes well again, I expect BTC to quickly recover as difficulty adjusts and miners come back.
