THE ISSUE OF ELECTRICITY AND ITS USERS DEPENDENCY ON EXTERNAL SOURSE OF POWER

Electricity seem like gold these days, you yearn for it
The issue of no electricity has been on the rise lately in Nigeria. It's either the source is problematic, or they ration the light to specific places at a given period of time, thus, a give and take is involved. It's either robbers have looted away with important compartments of the transformer that distributes light or the national grid fell or something. I remember back in the university, I can basically count how many time we had light during our four year stay on campus. Even when it comes the light is so dull that it can not charge phones, laptops then we have to carry our stuffs to school on a daily basis to charge even most times we hlgo to outlets that charges in return for payment of service.

EXORBITANT ELECTRICITY BILLS
With the inconsistent electricity been offered comes exorbitant bills Form their offices. It's like these days, they just release bills to people depending on what the environment looks like or what kind of properties or business you operate. For instance, a colleague was complaining bitterly that in a rural area, where they only have light like 10 to 15 times a month, they brought a ridiculous bill of over #10000. We have also heard celebrities complain like they purposely bill them because of their status.

This issue has collapsed many businesses who are dependent on electricity. For example, you need electricity to boost pure water business, computer centers, fashion complexes... You practically need light for everything in this 21st century.

EXTERNAL SOURSES OF POWER
People have taken their fate into their own hands these days by been dependent on other forms that would provide electricity. You get to buy a new gadget and immediately follow it up by getting an extra source of supply.

GENERATOR
One of the common ways Nigerians have used as a means to sustain the private lives and to carry on businesses. This means have sustained many businesses from collapse, while it is advantageous it can also be disadvantageous because the noise from the generator cam be so loud sometimes and can pollute the environments. Again, we have heard of so many death cases that are related to using generators wrongly thus inhaling the fume.

POWERBANKS
It has become a norm now that once you buy a mobile phone, buy a powerbank to support it😂. Literally, every member of my family own a powerbank due to the inconsistency of lights. The price of good power banks now is not for the poor at all. You will need over $20 to get a good lasting and durable powerbank. These also have negative implications where we hear of powerbanks exploding on a person's body thus leaving internal and external injuries.

INVERTER
Most people have resolved to the use of inverter whose batteries can last 10 to 15hours at most but still need to charged for it to be efficient

SOLAR PANEL
Another common means is by converting solar energy to electricity, this has be very useful but very expensive.

In view of all these, the fact that we can get enough electricity directly from national grids, most people have succumb to the use of these power sources to boost business operations and also carry out activities in the home. While these products are not cheap but rather expensive, they are also hazardous to health and the people in general. For how long can this go on, the rise in inflation is so bad and business needles to keep running. The financial constraints to achieve these are alarming.
