WHY OWNING A BANK ACCOUNT IS NECESSARY

Although local banks can be stressful at times, but in this present day and age it is risky not to own or operate a bank account considering the fact that the world has gone digital. Most transactions are not carried by fiat currency anymore but are rather settled with online payments and so on.

There has been recent warnings from the banks that all old notes be deposited in the banks and then an incident occurred. There is panic as most people in a rural communities do not have bank accounts, hence are stuck on what to do with their old notes. Even when explaining the need to, one of them was like he can never put his money in the bank. Such ignorance is a limitation to one's ability. Although, the community only operates on pos hence they have to travel a distance before they get a bank. However, this would have reduced the burden of running around in crucial times.

Thankfully, the government has extended the date for the new naira notes deadline, hopefully, they settle the issues by opening a banking and keep their savings before exchanging to the new notes. But, convincing an illiterate requires consistency and effort 🫤
