Un cordial saludo para todos los participantes de este singular concurso, muy especialmente a su respetable conductor @lanzjoseg y a todos aquellos usuarios que, de una u otra manera, colaboran para hacer realidad la ejecución de éste evento semanalmente; que consiste en observar una imagen fotográfica, analizarla, hacer un informe y luego publicarlo con sus conclusiones. ¡Es así de sencillo!

A cordial greeting to all the participants of this singular contest, especially to its respectable driver @lanzjoseg and to all those users who, in one way or another, collaborate to make this weekly event a reality; which consists of observing a photographic image, analyzing it, making a report and then publishing it with its conclusions. It's as simple as that!

Para estar bajo esta temporada de lluvias torrenciales en donde existen muchísimos lugares del planeta, que están dejando cantidades de damnificados, ese “canal de alivio” se observa muy tranquilo, presentando un fluido del agua con dirección al mar, completamente despejado. No se observa ningún escombro que pueda interrumpir su rumbo, ni causar daños de desbordamiento del canal; de ser así, afectaría mucho a los habitantes de las viviendas que se encuentran al margen del mismo.

In this season of torrential rains in which there are many places on the planet that are leaving many people homeless, this "relief channel" is very calm, with the water flowing towards the sea, completely clear. There is no debris that could interrupt its course or cause damage from overflowing of the canal; if this were the case, it would greatly affect the inhabitants of the houses located on its margins.

Acá, en el Estado Zulia, a esos “canales de alivio” se les conoce como “Cañadas”; por las cuales fluyen todas las aguas servidas o aguas residuales, que el común de la población las denomina como “aguas negras”, ya que desde cada casa pasan a ser servidas en las cloacas y van acumulando cada vez más residuos hasta llegar al término de ser Antropogénica, lo cual se define como los desperdicios humanos… Luego se dirigen rumbo al Lago de Maracaibo, en donde se ciernen contaminando las aguas y toda la biodiversidad de éste frágil medio ambiente lacustre. Y mejor no sigo exponiendo tal asunto…

Here, in the State of Zulia, these "relief channels" are known as "Cañadas", through which flow all the sewage or wastewater, which the common population calls "black water", since from each house they are served in the sewers and accumulate more and more waste until reaching the term of being Anthropogenic, which is defined as human waste... Then they are directed towards the Maracaibo Lake, where they contaminate the waters and all the biodiversity of this fragile lake environment. And I'd better not go on exposing such matter...

Estas cañadas siempre deben mantenerse limpias, no solo por parte de las entidades municipales, también los ciudadanos tienen su parte de responsabilidad en cuanto al uso y limpieza de las mismas. El cuidado de preservar el medio ambiente donde vivimos “es tarea de todos”, más aun, si habitamos en lugares cerca de estos canales o bocas de cloacas. Cuando no existe conciencia ciudadana, ni de respeto y consideración por la comunidad en donde se convive con otros semejantes, siempre hay estos desbordamientos en temporada de lluvias porque se bota la basura dentro del canal, lo cual obstruye su cauce… Debemos aceptar cuando cometemos este tipo de error porque nos afecta a todos. Y luego, le “echamos” dedo a las autoridades por no cumplir bien su trabajo. No es mi deseo crear polémica con esta aseveración, pero gran parte de los hechos son así. El municipio está en el deber de limpiar las cañadas antes de que empiece la temporada de lluvias, pero los ciudadanos, vecinos de estos lugares, no deben permitir que otro ciudadano deposite su basura dentro del canal… Todo es crear una educación ciudadana que aporte biesnestar para las comunidades afectadas.

These canals must always be kept clean, not only by the municipal entities, but also the citizens have their share of responsibility regarding their use and cleanliness. The care of preserving the environment where we live "is everyone's task", even more so if we live near these canals or sewage outlets. When there is no citizen conscience, nor respect and consideration for the community where we live with others, there are always these overflows in the rainy season because garbage is thrown into the channel, which obstructs its course... We must accept when we make this kind of mistake because it affects us all. And then, we "throw" a finger at the authorities for not doing their job well. I do not wish to create controversy with this statement, but most of the facts are like this. The municipality has the duty to clean the ravines before the rainy season begins, but the citizens, neighbors of these places, should not allow other citizens to deposit their garbage in the canal... It is all about creating a citizen education that contributes to the welfare of the affected communities.
