Voici ma participation au BeerSaturday 306 avec une bière de type hefeweizen, la Weiz Guys ! de la microbrasserie Labrosse à Montréal (enfin presque).

Here is the map of Quebec where I can show you precisely the location of the brewery. Labrosse is located on the island of Montreal, completely west of Pointe Claire.

📜 Brewery / Brasserie :

The Labrosse microbrewery is located in the west on the island of Montreal in Pointe-Claire and opened its doors in February 2017. It's the first craft microbrewery on this part of the town. The co-owners are Troy Olynyk and Patrick Farell, two childhood friends, with Daniel Ablenas as head brewer. Troy Olynyk, a former computer engineer, and his friend Patrick Farell were brewing in their basement struggling to supply friends. Hence the idea to start this microbrewery. And since there were no microbreweries in their neighborhood, they decided to try their "luck" in Pointe Claire and not in downtown Montreal where the offer is already abundant.

La microbrasserie Labrosse est située dans l’ouest de l’île de Montréal à Pointe-Claire et a ouvert ses portes en février 2017. Elle est la première microbrasserie artisanale de l’ouest de l’île. Les copropriétaires sont Troy Olynyk et Patrick Farell, deux amis d'enfance, avec Daniel Ablenas comme brasseur principal. Troy Olynyk, un ancien ingénieur informaticien, et son ami Patrick Farell brassaient dans leur sous-sol peinant à fournir les amis. D'ou l'idée de lancer cette microbrasserie. Et comme il n'y avait aucune microbrasserie dans leur quartier, ils ont décidé de tenter leur chance à Pointe Claire et non au centre ville de Montréal ou l'offre est déjà abondante.

🍺 Tasting / Dégustation :

The **Weiz Guys! is a hefeweizen type of beer (Hefe: yeast and weizen: wheat), a wheat beer from Germany recognizable by its rather cloudy color because it isn't filtered and by its abundant white foam. This is exactly what I had in my glass when I opened it. With a very low IBU (13), it's a pleasant beer to drink, perfect to enjoy the first sun rays in Montreal. It's said to taste of banana and clove. I still have trouble finding its flavors. But good beer from my point of view.

La Weiz Guys ! est une bière de type hefeweizen (Hefe : levure et weizen : blé), wheat beer originaire d'Allemagne reconnaissable par sa robe plutôt trouble car non filtrée ainsi qu'une mousse blanche abondante. C'est exactement ce que j'avais dans mon verre à l'ouverture. Avec un IBU très faible (13), c'est bière agréable à boire, parfait pour profiter des premiers rayons de soleil sur Montréal. Soit disant, elle goute la banane et le clou de girofle. J'ai toujours du mal à retrouver ses saveurs. Mais bonne bière de mon point de vue.

Design

The design of this can is rather nice thanks to this panda a little gangster with hat and cigar. On the back we find the different information with the IBU, the SRM (Standard Reference Method) for the color of beer and a measure that I didn't know the FG °P (if someone knows and can explain in comment, it would be appreciated). Simple but effective design.

Le design de cette canette est plutôt sympathique grâce à ce panda un peu gangster avec chapeau et cigare. A l'arrière on retrouve les différentes informations avec l'IBU, le SRM (Standard Reference Method) pour la couleur de la bière et une mesure que je ne connaissais pas le FG °P (si quelqu'un connait et peut expliquer en commentaire, cela serait apprécié). Design simple mais efficace.
