Here's my entry for the BeerSaturday 349 with a beer I bought on vacation in Mont Tremblant last week. It's a Stout Expresso from the brewey Saint Arnould. As the weather was a little warm for skiing, I took advantage of the afternoons to visit the surrounding microbreweries. I discovered three in the area, including Saint Arnould.

Voici ma participation au BeerSaturday 349 avec une bière achetée pendant mes vacances à Mont Tremblant la semaine dernière. Il s'agit d'une Stout Expresso de la microbrasserie Saint Arnould. Comme le temps était un peu chaud pour faire du ski, j'ai profité des après-midi pour visiter les microbrasseries des alentours. J'en ai découvertes trois dans les environs dont Saint Arnould.

Here is the map of Quebec where I can show you precisely the location of the brewery. We're in the Laurentian region in the town of Mont-Tremblant to find this brewery Saint Arnould which also offers a restaurant service. I had a burger, nothing more, but to accompany a good beer, perfect.

Nous sommes dans la région des Laurentides dans la ville de Mont-Tremblant pour trouver cette brasserie Saint Arnould qui offre aussi un service de restauration. J'ai mangé un burger, sans plus mais pour accompagner une bonne bière, parfait.

The Saint Arnould brewery is one of Quebec's oldest microbreweries, in existence for over 30 years. It was acquired in 2023 by Brasseries Bêta founded in 2021 by Labrie Devost and Bélisle Turcotte. The brewing facilities are coupled with a restaurant with a stage that occasionally features live music. A great place to spend an evening after a day on the slopes.

La microbrasserie Saint Arnould est une des plus vieilles microbrasserie du Québec avec plus de 30 années d'existence. Elle a été racheté en 2023 par les Brasseries Bêta fondées en 2021 par Labrie Devost et Bélisle Turcotte. Les installations brassicoles sont couplées avec un restaurant avec une scène qui propose de temps en temps quelques concerts. Cool endroit pour passer une soirée après une journée sur les pentes de ski.

Here's the beer list from my visit last week. I took the Rivière Rouge, a Red Ale to enjoy with my burger. Good beer, but I love this type of beer. And on my way out, I picked up a can of Expresso Stout to taste a little later.

Voici la carte des bières proposées lors de mon passage la semaine dernière. J'ai pris la Rivière Rouge, une Red Ale pour déguster ave mon burger. Bonne bière mais je suis amateur de ce type de bière. Et en partant, je me suis pris une canette de Stout Expresso pour gouter un peu plus tard.

For the record, Saint-Arnould was born in Flanders and became the patron saint of brewers thanks to a miracle. In 1087, drinkers of the barrel of beer he blessed were spared the plague that was raging in the region. It's true that since I've been drinking beer, I've never caught the plague 😅.

Pour info, Saint-Arnould est né en Flandre et devenu le patron des brasseurs grâce à un miracle. En 1087, les buveurs du baril de bière qu'il avait béni ont été épargné par la peste qui sévissait dans la région. Il est vrai que depuis que je bois de la bière, je n'ai jamais attrapé la peste 😅.

🍺 Tasting / Dégustation :

The Stout Expresso is a beer brewed with Arabica coffee with 6% alcohol and an IBU of 40. In the glass, it has a fairly black color with a light, brown head that quickly disappears. On the palate, it has the bitterness of a stout blended with espresso. I liked this blend because the two flavors were well balanced. For me, this is a late-night beer for relaxing after a good day.

La Stout Expresso est une bière brassée avec du café Arabica avec 6% d'alcool et un IBU de 40. Dans le verre, on a une robe assez noire avec une mousse légère et brune qui disparait rapidement. En bouche, on retrouve l'amertume d'une stout mélangé à un expresso. J'ai bien aimé ce mélange car les deux saveurs étaient bien balancées. Pour moi, c'est une bière de fin de soirée pour relaxer après une bonne journée.

Design

The design is the same for all beers in this format, with the name of the brewery followed by the name of the beer. The color depends on the type of beer, just perfect for knowing what you're going to drink just by picking up the can. But nothing original.

Le design est le même pour toutes les bières avec ce format, nom de la brasserie puis celui de la bière. La couleur dépend du type de bière, juste parfait pour savoir ce qu'on va boire juste en prenant la canette. Mais rien d'original.
