CCC's Street Art Contest #183 Suly & Judith Boily Valois, Montreal
To take part in the CCC's Street Art Contest #183 hosted by @digi-me, I propose this mural done by Suly and Judith Boily Valois in Montreal in 2021. It's true that you have to love cats and flashy colors 😀. But it was these colors that caught my eye one morning on the bike path (the dot line on the map) on Notre Dame Street on my way to work.
Pour participer au CCC's Street Art Contest #183, je vous propose cette murale réalisée par Suly et Judith Boily Valois à Montréal en 2021. Il est vrai qu'il faut aimer les chats et les couleurs flashy. Mais ce sont ces couleurs qui ont attiré un matin mon regard sur la piste cyclable (la ligne en pointillée sur la carte) de la rue Notre Dame en allant au travail.

This mural was painted by Suly, a Montreal artist (who must also do circus according to his Instagram profile) and Judith Boily Valois, artist and high-school Arts teacher, also from Montreal.
Cette murale a été peinte par Suly, un artiste montréalais (qui doit faire aussi du cirque d'après son profil Instagram) et Judith Boily Valois, artiste et enseignante en Arts au secondaire, aussi de Montréal.
The mural, called Cosmic Cats, was painted during the summer of 2021 in the middle of a heatwave. It took a lot of courage to paint a work of this size stuck to a brick wall. Respect... It must have been hot. The theme seems to have been chosen by Suly as he often depicts cats in his work. It must be said that Judith Boily Valois often paints animals too. As for the meaning of the wall, I leave it to your interpretation (to leave in the Section comment). But for me it's clear: cats are the origin of black holes in space 😅.
La murale, appelée Les Chats Cosmiques a été réalisée pendant l'été 2021 en pleine canicule. Ils ont bien du courage de peindre une œuvre de cette taille collés à un mur en brique. Cela devait être bien chaud. Respect. Le thème semble avoir été choisi par Suly car il représente souvent des chats. Il faut dire que Judith Boily Valois peint souvent des animaux. Pour la signification du mur, je laisse libre cours à votre interprétation à laisser en commentaire. Mais pour moi c'est clair, les chats sont à l'origine des trous noirs dans l'espace 😅.
