CCC's Street Art Contest #187 Octavio Rüest, Montreal
It's good to be back on Hive after a week's vacation, especially for the CCC's Street Art Contest #187. I had prepared to write a few posts during this week of skiing in Mont-Tremblant (Quebec) but my laptop decided to die. So, a few days late, I present for the contest hosted by @digi-me this mural done by Octavio Rüest a few years ago on the streets of Montreal.

Je m'étais préparé pour écrire quelques posts pendant cette semaine de ski au Mont-Tremblant (Québec) mais mon ordinateur portable a décidé de rendre l'âme. Alors avec quelques jours de retard, je vous présente cette murale réalisée par Octavio Rüest, il y a quelques années dans les rues de Montréal.

Octavio Rüest
Octavio Ruest is an artist and designer born in Montpellier (France) in 1987 and based in Montreal since 2003. Despite a difficult settlement in Quebec, he has always kept his artistic work to address the social issues he faced or witnessed.
Octavio Ruest est un artiste et designer né à Montpellier (France) en 1987 et installé à Montréal depuis 2003. Malgré une installation difficile au Québec, il a toujours gardé son travail artistique pour aborder les enjeux de sociétés auxquels il faisait face ou était témoin.
Beautiful mural on an increasingly topical subject, our use of oil, which seems to be leading to our downfall. In my introduction, I told you that I was skiing, and this is the first time in Quebec that I've seen temperatures above 10° in early March and almost no snow on the mountain. How sad... I had already presented one of his murals at the Canettes de Ruelle festival. You can recognize the style 🔽.
Belle murale avec un sujet de plus en plus d'actualité, notre utilisation du pétrole qui semble de nous mener à notre perte. En introduction, je vous ai dit que j'étais au ski et c'est la première fois au Québec que je vois des températures supérieurs à 10° début mars et presque pas de neige sur la montage. C'est triste... Je vous avais déjà présenté l'une de ses murales réalisée lors du festival Canettes de Ruelle. On reconnait le style :
And I end this post with a lettering that was right next door in the parking lot leading to the Woodworking School. I don't know the artists but great tribute to Barry with this color scheme.
Et je termine ce post avec un lettrage qui se trouvait juste à côté dans le parking menant à l'école d'Ébénisterie. Je ne connais pas les artistes mais superbe hommage à Barry avec cette palette de couleurs.

There is the oil production issue but as an artificial reef those offshore platforms are pretty great in the Gulf Of Mexico lol there are no natural reefs in the northern part of the gulf along the US shore. So the fishing is great around the oil platforms 🙂 Nice mural btw 👍
Nature settles in everywhere, and reclaims its rights. This gives me a little hope for the future.
