It's been a long time since I've talked about "cars". And it's a good thing, because two weeks ago the The Guikas Collection sale, through International auction house took RM Sotheby's, place in Le Castellet, home Paul Ricard Circuit (built in 1969 near Marseille thanks to Paul Ricard, French industrialist with his famous brand of pastis). The 77 cars offer without reserve were sold for the sum of € 39.5 million. Impressive ! I'll show you the the 3 best sales and the final price of the cars I presented in my previous posts.

Just to remind you, the Guikas collection is one part of the incredible inventory owned by Jean Guikas, collector and car dealer from Marseille (France). You have to check his website GUIKAS GTC Collection, worth it...Le Castellet with the Paul Ricard Circuit was the perfect location for the sale of there 75 racings and road cars.

Here the final price of the cars sold during The Guikas Collection sale and presented during previous posts :

€ 432,500Unknown€ 680,00

For the 1963 Abarth-Simca 1300 GT, Jean Guikas had to change his mind and withdrew it from the sale because I don't see it anymore on the RM Sotheby's website. Strange...

And now here is the top 3

1955 Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta Competizione

In first position, we obviously find this marvel, 1955 Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta Competizione with a coachwork penned by Pinin Farina, sold for € 6,192,500 🤑. Just for info, after the 250 MM, Ferrari produced in 1955 6 prototypes of the 250 GT Berlinetta Competizione. It'll serve as a base for the star of the rally in the 50s and 60s, the 250 GT Berlinetta Tour de France.

It makes you want to sit behind the wheel even more 😀

Final Price : € 6,192,500

1958 Ferrari 250 GT Cabriolet Series I

For the second place, we find again the couple Ferrari and Pinin Farina but this time with a superb convertible of the same period, 1958 Ferrari 250 GT Cabriolet Series I. In 1956, Boano, Italian coachworker, decided to build a cabriolet on the basis of the 250 GT (a version with tailfins). So, during the 1957 Geneva Motor Show, Pininfarina decided to do his own cabriolet version and produced 37 examples (including 3 prototypes). Each interiors was specific to his owner as you can see :

Final Price : € 4,420,625

2005 Ferrari 575 GTC

line_hive.jpg

04.jpg

Ferrari again to complete the podium but this time with a race car 2005 Ferrari 575 GTC. I don't know much about race cars but this example is one the 12 575 GTC built between 2003 and 2005, the last Ferrari race car with a V12 engine (600 hp with a top speed of 334 kmh / 208 mph).

Final Price : € 2,648,750

And I couldn't stop on a strictly Ferrari podium... so for more diversity, here the fourth place :

1976 Renault-Alpine A442

line_hive.jpg

05.jpg

A piece of history for the French constructor, Renault, on the 4 1976 Renault-Alpine A442. This car was produced in order to participate to the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1977 and 1978. And this example was on the 3 raced during the race in 1978 with the first victory for Renault. 😲

Usual question, if money was not an issue, which car would you have bought ?
You can my choice in the Sources section 😉
