Last weekend was the Street Art festival Canettes de Ruelle in the Rosemont Petite Patrie neighborhood in the alleys around Masson street. Since I was in the country for the weekend (with a slow internet connection), I couldn't see the murals done but I hope to be able to visit the neighborhood soon to share it all with you. In the meantime, here is a mural done last year:

Le weekend dernier se déroulait le festival de Street Art Canettes de Ruelle dans le quartier Rosemont Petite Patrie dans les ruelles autour de la rue Masson. Comme j'étais en weekend à la campagne (avec une connexion internet assez lente), je n'ai pas pu voir les murales faites pendant ce weekend mais j'espère pouvoir faire un tour dans le quartier bientôt pour vous partager tout cela. En attendant, voilà un mur fait l'année dernière :

MonoSourcil

Born in Montreal in 1989, Maxilie Martel-Racicot aka MonoSourcil has a degree in visual arts. Around 2012, she began in the world of street art and graffiti that she found more free and intuitive. She expresses her vision of the individual in Western society through caricature with businessmen, monsters, robots... The omnipresence of her monosourcil characters becomes iconic in Montreal.

Née à Montréal en 1989, Maxilie Martel-Racicot aka MonoSourcil a un diplôme en art visuel. En 2012, elle commence à s'intéresser au Street Art qu'elle trouve plus libre et intuitif. Son univers est peuplé d'hommes d'affaire, de monstres et de robots représentant sa vision de la société actuelle, très individualiste. Ses personnages mono-sourcille ont envahi les rues de Montréal.

Zek

Zek is an artist based in Montreal using aerosol spray for more than three decades in Writing (street-art centered on Calligraphy) with clean lines and bright colors.

Zek est un artiste montréalais qui graffe depuis plus de 3 décennies. Ses lettres sont souvent très propres (nettes) avec un remplissage de couleurs vives.

HSix

HSix is an artist also based in Montreal. He has done many portraits on the walls of the city and sometimes made beautiful lettering as in this case.

HSix est un artiste aussi basé à Montréal. Il a fait de nombreux portraits sur les murs de la ville et parfois fait de superbe lettering comme dans ce cas là.

Magic Hob

Magic Hob, best known for his pairs of legs that walk on the walls of Montreal (see video in the Bonus section).

Magic Hob, surtout connu pour ses paires de jambes qui parcourent les murs de Montréal (voir vidéo dans la section Bonus).

Benny Wilding aka Cemz

Benny Wilding (also Cemz or Ether) discovered street art during a trip to New York at the age of 12 in the mid-90s, influenced by the spray-painted walls all over the city. He returned to Montreal to devote himself to street art. He started in 1997 as Cemz in writing. Often, his style combines Pop Art & cartoons with a great writing of his name, true contrast between them. This series is about another part of his art with this fake signs.
