Today, we’re moving on from the Under Pressure festival, which I’ve been showcasing for the past few weeks. There're still three or four walls left to share, including the two main ones. But I’m not happy with my current photos; there are a bit too many cars or other things in front of the murals. In the meantime, here is a work I began photographing in Montreal back in the summer of 2025. Because of the trees, I’ve tried to capture a better view of Caitlin McDonagh’s work during each season. Aujourd'hui, nous allons quitter le festival Under Pressure présenté depuis quelques semaines. Il me manque trois ou quatre murs à présenter dont les deux principaux. Mais je n'aime pas mes photos pour le moment, un peu trop de voitures ou autre devant les murales. En attendant, c'est une œuvre que j'ai commencé à prendre en photo durant l'été 2025 à Montréal. Avec les arbres, j'ai essayé chaque saison d'avoir une meilleure vue sur le travail de Caitlin Donagh. Vous me direz quelle est votre saison préférée... 😀

This mural is located on the wall of the Santropol association at Terrasses Roy in Montreal. This stretch of Roy street has been closed to traffic and transformed into an urban garden, complete with seating areas where you can enjoy offerings from the neighborhood—such as the empanadas from La Chilenita.

Cette murale se trouve sur le mur de l'association Santropol sur les Terrasses Roy à Montréal. Ce bout de la rue Roy a été fermé à la circulation et transformé en jardin urbain avec des espaces pour s'assoir et profiter de ce que le quartier peut offrir comme les empanadas de la Chilenita.

Caitlin Donagh

I stumbled upon the creation of this mural by chance in the summer of 2025. Caitlin Donagh, a Canadian artist and muralist, was in the process of putting the finishing touches on her work. Her art is often inspired by nature and features a harmonious color palette, as can be seen, for instance, in the flower shown in the photo below 🔽.

Je suis tombé par hasard sur la réalisation de cette murale lors de l'été 2025. Caitlin Donagh, artiste et muraliste canadienne, était en train de finaliser son œuvre. Son travail est souvent lié à la nature avec une harmonie dans la palette de couleurs, à voir en particulier sur la fleur sur la photo ci-dessous.

The front facade of the Santropol was hidden by the foliage of two trees. I waited until autumn, hoping to get a better view of this part of the mural. The colors of the leaves are truly beautiful, but, unfortunately, the mural isn't entirely visible.

La façade avant du Santropol était cachée par le feuillage de deux arbres. J'ai attendu l'automne pour essayer d'avoir une meilleure vue sur cette partie de la murale. Les couleurs des feuilles sont vraiment belles mais par contre la murale n'est pas visible complétement.

In winter, with the leaves gone, there’s an unobstructed view of the artist’s work—though a piece of graffiti has appeared, too. It doesn’t really detract from it, though... It really helps you understand the importance of #StreetArt in Montreal. All this art brings color to the city’s walls during the winter—which is especially significant when the sky is gray.

Pendant l'hiver, plus aucune feuille avec une vue dégagée sur le travail de l'artiste bien qu'un tag soit apparu. Il ne dérange pas trop... Par contre, vous comprenez l'importance du #StreetArt à Montréal. Tout cet art en hiver met de la couleur sur les murs de la ville. Quand le ciel est gris, c'est encore plus important.
