Weekly StreetArt #036 (🎁 : 1 HBD for the 3 best posts of the week)

avatar

A new week begins. It's time for the Weekly Street Art with its selection of 3 posts written last week within our community. It's with pleasure that we find some works made in Asia (Singapore and The Philippines), and always many works from Europe and America (especially in South America). We miss Oceania, however a few months ago, we often visited Melbourne in Australia. Too bad for our World Tour 😀.

To illustrate this week's Weekly StreetArt, I offer you the portrait of David Bowie as Ziggy by an unknown artist despite the signature "CCXIII 2022". This one was close to the Legal de Rouen Wall in Montreal. But it has already been erased with black paint. The letterings right next to it can be found in the posts StreetArt #465 and StreetArt #466.

Here are the 3 articles selected this week, always subjective because there are many very interesting posts. I remind you that I put the pictures in black and white just to give you an idea. It's worth going to see the original photos on the post (and at the same time, you can upvote).

@macoolette - Kunaya L Lopez & Taipan Lucero - Baguio City (Philippines)

For the first mural, we are in the Philippines in the city of Baguio with these mamang sorbetero, street vendors of ice cream, realized in a very realistic way by Kunaya L. Lopez. On the very beautiful photos of @macoolette, one does not know any more who is painted and who is not. Moreover in his post, there is another work with calligraphy realized by Taipan Lucero. Superb.

@harveyword - Kampong Glam, Singapore

We stay in the same peninsula but this time further south in Singapore to discover a very cool selection of Street Art photographed by @harveyword including this work of Ernest Zacharevic, a Lithuanian artist settled in Malaysia. I really like the use of objects in a mural, it gives more life to the work. Also, his Instagram is worth a look especially with his modified traffic signs.

@deska89 - Bozko - Sofia (Bulgaria)

And we finish this stroll in Bulgaria, in the capital Sofia with two huge walls realized by Bozhidar Simeonov aka Bozko with his human creatures. Superb as well by the colors as by the design. Nice artistic discovery.

Wow! You did more research than I did about the street arts. I did not even know who painted those arts. 😲 That is very good of you!

Thank you very much for featuring my post and with those additional info. 😊💖

Yep I found the Instagram on the wall, especially the one about the calligraphy (I love typo and calligraphy) and I was curious about the meaning of the work done by Taipan Lucero :
"Gulong ng Buhay / Wheel of Fate / Samsara - the cycle of life: to pass through the different states of existence." (Source : Instagram)
