Xavi Hernandez or just Xavi is a reluctant coach, if you ask the Spanish sports newspaper AS. According to the newspaper, the former Barcelona midfield general should have turned down job offers from both the German big club Dortmund and the Brazilian national team.

The 41-year-old Spaniard was a big part of Barcelona's success up through the 00s and 10s, but in 2015 it was over for Xavi. Therefore, he switched to the Qatar club Al-Sadd, where he played until 2019 and subsequently became the coach of.

The adventure has brought great success, and this season Xavi was able to crown the time in the desert state with an undefeated championship and a cup title with Al-Sadd. The contract between Al-Sadd and Xavi has therefore also been extended to 2023, but that in no way stops the rumor mill that has put the Spaniard in touch with the job as head coach at the old club; FC Barcelona. Already earlier in the season, when President Juan Laporte was running for office, it was almost promised that Xavi would come in as coach of Blaugrana during the presidency.

However, Xavi himself has turned down a move to Barcelona at the moment, and it is reportedly not the only job offer the 41-year-old Spaniard has turned down.

According to AS, Dortmund offered a three-year contract as head coach before Xavi signed the extension with Al-Sadd, while in Brazil there was talk that Xavi would be assistant to national coach Tite until the World Cup in 2022 in Qatar.

Xavi has been the subject of some criticism, as he has been very involved in Qatar, and among other things has spoken in positive terms about the political system in the country.
