I made this picture with my smartphone of course

Today I want to tell you a fairy tale.

Yes, you read that right, a fairy tale about ... Read on quickly, then it will become clear.

Neglecting photography for too long

Once upon a time, in a small village nestled in the countryside of the Dutch province of North Brabant, there was a woman named Hetty. Hetty was a woman with an artistic streak and a great lover of animals. She spent most of her days blogging, painting and taking care of her beloved dogs. She had a passion for capturing the beauty of the world around her, but for some time now she had focused all her attention on creating paintings and her dogs. This had caused her to neglect her other passion - photography.

In the dark, tucked away in its usual spot on the top shelf of a living room closet, neatly packed in its own bag, lay a DSLR camera called Nikon. Nikon had previously been Hetty's constant companion, working with Hetty to create stunning images of the world around her. But when Hetty's focus shifted to her painting and her dogs, Nikon was forgotten and unused.

Nikon lay in the dark closet, in an even darker bag, feeling dejected and alone. He longed to be taken out and used again to capture the beauty of Hetty's dogs and possibly even the paintings she made. He dreamed of the days when Hetty would take him on photo shoots again, seeing breathtaking landscapes in front of his lens, and he dreamed of the day that they would make memories together again, capturing the beautiful moments together again.

Nikon's hopes faded away, until one day

But as the months passed, Nikon's hopes began to fade. He resigned himself to a life of being forgotten and unused. That was until one day Hetty was looking through her photos on her PC again, and felt a longing for the beautiful moments she had always shared with Nikon. A desire to stroll through nature together, fully immersed in the beauty of nature and being busy with Nikon.

She took Nikon out of its bag, held it for a moment, and looked at it with a mixture of nostalgia and guilt. She realized how much she missed photography and how much she missed Nikon. She promised herself she would make amends and Nikon would be back to work.

Building a bond again with Nikon

The next day, Hetty took Nikon for a walk with her dogs. She was amazed at how easily Nikon slipped back into her hands, as if no time had passed. Nikon was thrilled to be out in the open again, capturing images of Hetty's dogs as they ran and played.

Hetty and Nikon hope to spend a lot of time together again. Capturing the countryside together again, discovering new landscapes, and Hetty has even devised a challenge for herself and Nikon for that. At the moment, Nikon mainly captures some uninteresting images that do not really have much photographic beauty. These images are for the everyday objects challenge, and are even intended for Hetty to start working with Nikon again. But the next challenge involves a bit more. Hetty wants to capture 30 different landscapes with Nikon, and then be able to tell something about them. Nikon's lens is meant to be filled with the beauty of the world again.

Again a friend and companion

That the bond between Hetty and Nikon will become stronger again. That Nikon is no longer alone, and that it is no longer just a camera, but again a friend and companion. Hetty also plans to use Nikon for her paintings, capturing images of her dogs and other animals that she will use as references for her artwork later on. Nikon gets back to work and hopefully happy to be a part of the creative process.

Sometimes you have to take a step back!

From the adventures in the past, and the recent big step back, Hetty and Nikon have learned that sometimes in life we all need to step back and take a break. But with a little love and care, we can come back stronger and better than ever before. Nikon is back to work, and hopefully both Hetty and Nikon can continue their journey together with pride for each other!

The end.

If you want to join in this challenge. The original challenge was started by @rubencress, and you can find the challenge here

Footnote: In my excitement about this I forgot to insert it right away. My apologies! But I want to be very honest here, it is a fairy tale that applies to me completely. And I also rewrote the fairy tale to my own situation. But the fairy tale itself was written by AI that I wanted to experiment with.

The AI I used is ChatGPT.

This immediately gives me more inspiration to dedicate a complete blog to AI, I find it remarkable software to say the least.

@beardoin ... do you know even half how much it hurts, and the kind of struggles I'm having to go through now? Djeez, that will take me hours of research and comparing everything. Setting off quality against price, determining the wishlist, setting a max budget ... the shock and horror! My gosh, it's almost too much.

LOL
