It's the same story always. When the price is high, the people come in ... when the price is low people get demotivated and decide the hassle is not worth it. To repeat this process in the next bull run.

I don't pay any attention to steem anymore, so I wouldn't know if it would hit a million dollars or 1 cent. I do care about Hive, but like every crypto Hive also bounces with the rest of the market so that's why I try to keep an eye on BTC.

I get that many are just motivated by what they can make now, but I am playing the long game (over 7 years so far) and want Hive to succeed. I can see how it benefits people even now.

I absolutely agree with you. I've also been active all the time, (periods that I don't have any inspiration excluded). But those periods have nothing to do with the price or whatsoever.

Yes I also want Hive to succeed, but I can also see that when crypto is going down, and inflation is hitting hard, people don't have the energy to be active here as they need their energy to just make ends meet in real life

I wonder how many of those people are still active on other platforms that pay them nothing. We each do what works for us. I think Hive needs some critical mass of users to make it more attractive. I find plenty to entertain me as it is.

To be honest, I think that most people who are not active on Hive now and are maybe active on other platforms go there for a very different reason. As we both know, most people their family and friends are not on Hive and are on those other platforms. So to keep in touch with them they will use those other platforms. Also take a Pinterest or Instagram, the amount of inspiration you can get from there exceeds by far the number of posts you can find here on Hive. No matter how much I like Hive, we can not compete in terms of users, and therefore also not in the amount of posts in your fields of interest.

It is a circular problem. Lack of users means less content creators which leads to less users.

Those here are the pioneers. Some are producing real quality content that could appeal to a wider audience. For now few have even heard of Hive, so publicity is important. Things like the Hive rally car may help with that, but generally there is not much budget for marketing. There is also a lot of scepticism about crypto with all the scams and scare stories. We have an uphill battle, but I think it's worth fighting.

I agree with you on that one, but it's a hard fight to get people to believe in crypto the way it is. Even when they don't have to invest anything but their time to get started. So what can we do to change that? The fight is worth fighting, but we just have to find the best way to do so.
