Straw flowers, a versatile immortality

Fragrances are the feelings of the flowers

Planned to do a lot

Today a day when I planned to do a lot. In the end it turned out completely different ... and I did virtually nothing. Of course walking the dogs, that is a daily recurring thing… but besides that, not much has come out of my hands.

No focus at all

How did that happen? Well I was busy with 1001 things, flew my mind from zero to a hundred and back again. I was a bit restless, but above all… I had no focus. And everyone will recognize the latter. If your focus is missing, it is almost impossible to finish something you are starting. Regardless of the will and the plans ... and sometimes, very sometimes it is better to give in and just do NOTHING.

Live consciously in the moment, and enjoy what you have. It can be so common, but it is actually very special.

Straw Flowers

And while I was enjoying the dogs running and playing in the garden, I noticed the Straw flowers in bloom. At that moment I couldn't resist the temptation and I had to grab the camera to take some pictures of these ordinary, and yet so special flowers. It actually fits the feeling I had today. A feeling full of contradictions, wanting a lot… but doing nothing in the end. A day that was so ordinary and yet so special. Without focus, still with focus photography.

Straw flowers, Also knows as the Helichrysum Bracteatum.

A flower that is usually kept for use as a dried flower. Because even dried, this flower retains its special shape. But it also looks fantastic in the garden. The brightly colored flowers are a feast for the eyes and these bright colors also attract many bees and butterflies. I would say, for that alone it is worth sowing because bees are indispensable for us humans.

Immortality

In ancient times, these flowers were already used to decorate the temples of the Gods in ancient Greece. It was believed that the Gods liked flowers and because this flower is known as 'Immortal', this of course suited the immortal Gods perfectly. The nickname of this flower is also called Immortalis. And he owes that nickname to the fact that they have a very long flowering time. This flower will decorate your garden from May until the first frost. And of course after that eternal life as a dried flower that will never lose its shape or color. That is a special feature in itself.

Native Australian Flower

The Strawflower is native to Australia where it can survive anywhere, including desert-like soil. The only thing he really can't stand is frost! As soon as that happens, the blooming of these flowers is finished.

Essential Oils

This plant also has some properties that are used in essential oils. Helichrysum is used in essential oils because of the herbaceous scent that has a sweet honey-like undertone. This oil is often used in perfumes and skin care products, the Helichrysum also protects your skin from the sun and can therefore also be used well in homemade sunscreen.

Aromatherapy

Helicrhryum essential oil is used in aromatherapy, among others; abscesses, bruises, acne, dermatitis, boils, inflammation, eczema, muscle injuries, sprains, bruises, bruises, herpes, colds, sinusitis, vein infections, bacterial infections, flu, fever, colds, nerve pain, lethargy, stress, hemorrhoids, predisposition to varicose veins, asthma, bronchitis, acne, rosacea, mucus formation, allergic rash, meditation, high blood sugar, liver complaints and for better blood flow.

Health care

If you add helichrysum to an arnica macerate or nigella (black seed) oil, you can use this well for the care of scars.
Due to its anti-allergenic effect, the oil is also useful for skin problems such as eczema and psoriasis.

Many things you can use Helichrysum for

Another interesting feature is the prevention of blood clots. What makes helichrysum essential oil great for treating muscle injuries and sprains that cause bruising or bruising. The oil is even able to dissolve old blood clots.
Helichrysum combines well with cypress, cisterose, geranium, chamomile, cloves, rose, lavender, mimosa, neroli, clary sage and most citrus oils.

Psychic

The sharp and spicy aroma gives a safe feeling.
Helichrysum helps to release emotional blockages in a very subtle and gentle way, so the oil is also very suitable for use in animals. The oil helps the user to maintain and persevere.

Two drops of rose with one drop of helichrysum bring head and heart together.
Chakra: Helichrysum opens the solar plexus (solar plexus), associated color is yellow.

Contraindication

Do not use during pregnancy. do not use in children under 6 years. Use this oil sparingly in individuals sensitive to ketones.

Always use pure and high-quality therapeutic oil to avoid problems.

Thanks Axey, I love the power of nature and truly believe that nature provides us with everything we need. I learned a lot when I had eczema that could not be treated with pharmacies, but disappeared like snow for the sun as soon as I started to use natural therapies. Thanks for your comment and compliments. Very much appreciated.

Thanks for your reply, and yeah you really should ... It is very interesting what can be achieved with natural means. We all too often fall back on the 'large pharmaceutical industry'. Who has gained much more power over our health where that is often not necessary.

Contradictions are healthy - they cause us (mostly) to stop and re-evaluate. 😍

Having grown up with straw flowers in our Australian garden, I learned something today. Thank you.

Thank you for the curation ... and nice to hear that you learned something from this. I agree with you, contradictions can be very healthy, It also ensures that your immune system is put to work which in turn gives you more resistance.

Thanks for sharing, as a Nurse I like to try natural alternative non big Pharmaceutical solutions. I often see certain commonly prescribed medications that are partially or not effective at all even though hospital policy does not allow for natural remedies.
