Según la REAL LENGUA ESPAÑOLA, la definición de la palabra Mujer es: “Persona del sexo femenino”, detrás de esta definición hay mucho que abarcar, mucho que caracterizar, mucho que individualizar, y es que la mujer es un ser integral en todo el sentido de la palabra.

Si vamos a hablar de una mujer en general, debemos enfatizar que no importa su color de piel, no importa su preferencia política, su preferencia religiosa, si es profesional o no, al oficio que se dedique, simplemente con el hecho de ser mujer es más que suficiente para trasmitir el respeto y el valor que esta merece.

Y es que cuando hablamos de violencia, no solo nos referimos a los golpes, son muchos tipos de maltratos que a lo largo de los años se han convertido en el objetivo para causar dolor o para denigrar a las mujeres, estos pueden ser: violencia psicológica, violencia por género, violencia obstétrica, violencia económica, feminicidio, violación, explotación sexual, entre otras, unas mayores que otras, unas peores que otras, pero a final de cuenta todas llevando el mismo objetivo, “Violencia en contra de la mujer”.

A raíz de cada una de las cosas mencionadas anteriormente, en 1993, la Asamblea General de las Naciones Unidas aprobó la Declaración sobre la eliminación de la violencia contra la mujer, en la que definió el término violencia contra la mujer como:

“Todo acto de violencia basado en el género que tiene como resultado posible o real un daño físico, sexual o psicológico, incluidas las amenazas, o la prohibición arbitraria de la libertad, ya sea que ocurra en la vida pública o en la vida privada”

As a result of each of the things mentioned above, in 1993, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Declaration on the Elimination of Violence against Women, in which it defined the term violence against women as:

"Any act of gender-based violence that results in actual or threatened physical, sexual or psychological harm, including threats, or arbitrary prohibition of liberty, whether occurring in public or in private life."

En dicha asamblea, se reconoció que era necesaria una declaración de los derechos que se deben aplicar para asegurar la eliminación de toda violencia contra la mujer en todas sus formas, y un compromiso de los Estados y de la comunidad internacional en general para eliminar la violencia contra la mujer.

El 17 de diciembre de 1999, la Asamblea General de las Naciones Unidas designó el 25 de noviembre como el Día Internacional de la Eliminación de la Violencia contra la Mujer. La ONU invitó a gobiernos, organizaciones internacionales y organizaciones no gubernamentales a llevar a cabo actividades dirigidas a sensibilizar al público respecto del problema en este día como una celebración internacional.

Así que antes de maltratar a una mujer, primer deben pensar que cada uno de los seres humanos que habitan en este mundo llegan por medio de una mujer.

On December 17, 1999, the United Nations General Assembly designated November 25 as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. The UN invited governments, international organizations and non-governmental organizations to carry out activities aimed at raising public awareness of the problem on this day as an international observance.

So before mistreating a woman, you should first think that every single human being that inhabits this world comes through a woman.
