A Refreshing Summer Escape

Today is 20th April 2024 and yesterday itself we had planned to go to Sahastradhara. Because now it is summer in the entire Himalayas, hence the most amazing plan is to go and take bath in the river, so we go to sleep with a firm promise of leaving at 8 in the morning, but due to sleeping late at night, we did not wake up in the morning. Now woke up at 10 o'clock, after which I thought what to do now, it is very late.

The only reason for going early in the morning is that by going early we do not find crowd in the ponds in the river and at this early morning there will be only us and we will come back after swimming in the river for one or two hours. Well, while preparing breakfast, the plan is made once again and after breakfast, we pack our bags and wear shoes.

One more thing is good and that is that @saurabh.pandit is traveling with us and that too on his friend's two wheeler. So now three of us sit on a two wheeler and go towards Sahastradhara. Now since we have a motor vehicle we can go another 2 km from the main Sahastradhara. Let's plan to go further to where we went in winter last year.

In 40 minutes we park the scooter and set out in the hot sun to find a pond which is less crowded and we can make the weekend fun. We visit around 4-5 ponds. Here the local people build a wall on the river due to which a pond is formed on the river and tourists take bath in this pond. These tourists eat food from the local shops and use the changing rooms of their shops and in return the tourists pay the locals for the service.

Some ponds are currently being built on the river, some are ready for tourists. We choose a pond where there are only 2-3 people apart from the three of us. Soon we also take off our clothes and jump into the river. The water was barely 4 feet. We swim a lot and have fun. Gradually the crowd here increases after which we go to another pond where the crowd was less.

The Buddhist prayer flags waving in the sky looked very beautiful in the bright sunlight. We were sweating outside the river and now look, the cold water of the river made us shiver within a short time. By the way, everyone calls this place hidden, which is absolutely false. If it was hidden then there would not have been as much crowd here as we saw today. This place is about 2 km away from Shiva temple but hence there is less crowd here. Nowadays, the ignorant people are misleading the influenza by calling any place as hidden.

After spending two and a half hours here, we change and leave back for our home. On the way, we stop at one place and have lunch and after that we come straight to the bed at home and rest. So this was today's day which was very good and fun. Now tomorrow is Sunday and let's see where we plan to go tomorrow. Well, that's all for today, see you later in another post where I will bring you another amazing place, till then take care and keep laughing.
