Went to Rimbik village with friends by driving 1500 car

It's been 15 days since I wrote this. It's not that I don't feel like it, but I just haven't got time to write. The reason for not writing was my travel from Delhi to Rimbic. I went with my friends by road to Rimbik where I volunteered in a mountain trail race. So today I am going to write about this road trip. 1500 km. This long road trip was very tiring but the fun of being with my friends on such a long journey is very priceless.

After reaching Delhi, the first thing I collected from Dehradun was the race bibs, which had some printing defects. After loading all the material related to the event in the car at night itself, we slept and the next morning on March 3, 2024, we left at 7 am on a very long journey. Got the tank filled from the petrol pump and slowly but surely the car picked up speed and we reached the famous Yamuna-Agra Express Highway. Saying goodbye to this 250 km long highway, we crossed Vrindavan.

Now we desperately wanted to board the Lucknow Express Highway, and as soon as the car hit the road, we started feeling that we would reach our destination quickly today. Well, we didn't think at all about where we were going to stop, we just kept walking thinking that we would reach somewhere today. We had lunch at the food court located on Lucknow Express Highway. I ate Chole-Kulcha and drank tea with it.

There are dark clouds in the sky, it looks like it may rain. I love this kind of weather. The music playing in the car played an important role in making this weather pleasant. As soon as we entered Lucknow, it started raining heavily. From here we decided that instead of going to Gorakhpur, we would take Purvanchal Expressway and reach Bihar directly. Boards visible on the highway Ayodhya are telling that the place is very close from here where Ram temple has recently been opened for the general public.

Till now we have driven the car 750 km. We haven't eaten anything since lunch. And when we started getting tired, we stopped and wanted to drink tea and stopped. When I stopped and looked at the car, its condition was not at all the same as it was this morning. A plan is made to stop at Muzaffarpur which is 1050 km. is far. It took us 14 hours to reach here. After reaching here, we have dinner and sleep, thinking that we will leave early tomorrow so that we can reach Rimbik village by evening.

Leaving early the next morning, we have breakfast on the way and have tea in Bihar. Now we cross Kosi River and Ghaghra River and enter West Bengal. After walking about 50 km in West Bengal, we reach the middle of tea gardens. Stopping here we eat tea and momos. After spending about 40 minutes here, we start on the road again. From here one route goes to Darjeeling and another route goes to our destination which is Rimbik. Although Rimbik can also be reached from Darjeeling but that route is a bit longer so we plan to go via Mirik.

There is a plain road till Siliguri, and now we leave the plain road and enter the mountains. It is getting dark and it is a bit difficult to drive a car in the mountains because there are no street lights here. While witnessing the sunset in the mountains, we finally reach our destination at 07:30 in the evening which is Rimbik. The altitude here is 1850 meters. And it took us 2 days to reach here in which we covered a distance of 1500 km by car.
