Greetings everyone! I am trying to get my hands dirty again by making myself updated and consuming some contents on what was happening this recent days, maybe because the hacking incident occupied me a lot.

I am aware of Elon Musk and Jack Dorsey discussion about decentralized blockchain social media that can save our world problem on free speech.

I did not fully grasp the idea so I watched the video of the Youtuber called the tech lead, have done some screenshots of Elon and Jack's conversation about it, this makes me shocks because they are talking about what we have built on Hive.

An open source protocol, funded by a foundation of sorts that doesn't own the protocol, only advances it. A bit like what Signal has done. It can't have an advertising model. Otherwise you have surface area that governments and advertisers will try influence and control. It if has a centralized entity behind it, it will be attacked. This isn't complicated work, it just has to be done right so it's resilient to what has happened to twitter.

I have an idea for a blockchain social media system that does both payments and short text messages/links like twitter. You have to pay a tiny amount to register your message on the chain, which will cut out the vast majority of spam and bots. There is no throat to choke, so free speech is guaranteed.

Clearly that Elon is pertaining to Hive.

Blockchain twitter isn't possible, as the bandwitdth and latency requirements cannot be supported by a peer to peer network, unless those "peers" are absolutely gigantic, thus defeating the purpose of a decentralized network.

Indeed that blockchain twitter isn't possible but can be possible on Hive's RC system (Resource Credit)

The idea of blockchain free speech has been around for a long time. The questions are really about how to implement it.

The number 1 reason Hive do exist.

After watching this Youtube vid, I open my twitter and found the tweet of Elon saying Please buy my perfume, so I can buy Twitter.

I have quote retweeted the Elon's tweet by asking question, I have avoided saying Hive so it can be less censored, maybe I am not sure.
