Sending Sats from Satsman to V4V.app on the Hive blockchain

Okay, so I wanted to see if I could send Bitcoin satoshis from my Satsman.com account directly into my Hive ecosystem using the V4V Lightning wallet, which runs on the Hive blockchain.

Good news: it works! (Why wouldn't it?)

Inside my Satsman back office, I had about 24,000 sats available to withdraw. For this test, I decided to send 10,000 sats, which is the minimum withdrawal amount on Satsman.com. The goal was to move those sats into my V4V.app wallet and confirm that we now have a working bridge from Satsman earnings directly into Hive via Lightning.

I logged into my V4V account first. I hadn’t used it for a while and there was just one lonely satoshi in there. After grabbing (as I thought) my Lightning address from V4V, I went back to Satsman and opened the withdrawal panel. I entered 10,000 sats and pasted in my Lightning address, which turned out to be the QR string, and not my lightning address.

In the end, I had to manually input my V4V lightning address. Not a big problem, but maybe the Magi guys could tweak the "Receive" page so that the "copy" icon by the lightning address actually copies the lightning address and not the QR code string.

This was my first time sending sats to V4V from off-chain, and I wasn’t completely sure I had entered everything perfectly. Still, for the sake of testing, I was willing to risk 10,000 sats! 😇

The system accepted the address as valid - I wondered whether it had really checked that the address existed, or simply accepted the address structure - and I submitted the withdrawal request.

Satsman showed the usual message saying the withdrawal was under review and could take up to 48 hours. From my previous experience, sending sats to my Blink wallet a couple of days ago, I knew the transaction would not be instant. That withdrawal had taken around 11 hours from start to finish, so I didn't hang around and wait for the V4V transaction to go through.

The next morning, I checked my Satsman account. In the "Spent" section of my wallet, I could see the 10,000 sats marked as "sent." I had also received an email confirming that my withdrawal request had been received and was being processed.

A few hours later, while I'd been in the Land of Nod, another email arrived letting me know the withdrawal had been approved and the sats were on their way to my V4V address.

So the big question was: did they actually reach V4V?

I logged into V4V and checked the transaction history. Sure enough, there were my sats! A deposit showing 9,999 sats, with a 1 sat fee deducted, had arrived a few hours earlier. The timing matched perfectly with the email notification from Satsman saying the withdrawal had been completed.

So there you go! We can now send sats earned on Satsman directly to the V4V Lightning wallet and from there plug them into the Hive blockchain in whatever way you like.

That opens up a very interesting path for anyone earning small amounts of Bitcoin and wanting to bring that value into Hive-based apps and tokens.

Cheers!

A great way to be buying HIVE or HBD. Helps against all those who seem to be selling these days.
