Let's Talk & Win! Continues - Boosting Engagement

avatar

A few days back I announced "Let's Talk & Win! - Boosting Engagement With Random Winners" and I have just sent out the first prizes. A total of 5 LEO was sent to 5 different participants.

Unfortunately for me, I didn't see as many participants that I hoped for, but that actually makes things even better for the participants. The reason is simple, with more people engaging with any of my articles there will be less chance for each participant to win.

Why? - Because I randomly select people that will receive a prize. It doesn't matter how many comments you make, or if you actively engage with all the articles I publish or only a single one.

Each participant gets a number and I use random generator to pick the winners.

So, with 5 LEO in total for the next prize that will be sent out on Sunday, there will be 5 random winners. Imagine only 5 people making comments on my content. That's 1 LEO each. The odds of winning will decrease the more participants there'll be.

The goal of this is to have an on-going contest, so I will send the prizes twice per week, with the first set to be sent on Wednesday 2021-04-07. The remaining 5 LEO will be sent on Sunday 2021-04-11.

I sent the first prizes a bit late, but this is still an on-going thing that will be running until I officially announce a termination of it. From this post and forward, until 2021-04-14, I will count each comments as a participation. The next set of prizes will be sent Sunday 2021-04-11 and the third set of prizes will be sent on Wednesday 2021-04-14.

I do this in an attempt of bringing more attention towards real & active engagement which reflects a healthy and thriving platform. The long haul goal is to take some of the awesome amount of engagement from the daily posts from @leomarkettalk and push some of that elsewhere instead. I have plans for how to grow this thing into something even better with time, so starting with my own posts are just the beginning.

This is definitely a lottery. The cost is a single comment to get a ticket. The tickets are powerful and meaningful and it will boost the overall engagement with time. The outcome is a thriving and active community that will attract more content creators.

  • Engagement is key.

Engagement is slow to start. Hopefully things will start moving.

I commend you on the effort to try and bring the numbers up.

We will see what results of these initiatives. Hopefully we are raising more awareness.

I am sure we'll see higher numbers with time, as long as we are consistent in our efforts to boost the overall engagement. I don't expect any miracles and I am likely to have this on-going for a long time if I can see a decent amount of engagement. Otherwise, I'll probably just tweak this faster into what I have in mind already.. But I want to see where this thing goes before I do that.

Well sometimes engagement is active at some particular time, I think you did an AMA really recently? It's actually a step in the right direction sometimes I tweak my content type to actually foster engagement. Engagement is good, hopefully this one will get more engagement than the last.

Yeah, I did an AMA recently and I am well-aware of time-zone differences, audience being active and whatever. I totally understand your point. I obviously want more engagement on my own content, that is true, but that's not nearly as important as the overall engagement is for me. What I do in an attempt to boost the engagement on my own posts right now is just the beginning.

I have a bunch of things in mind so I just needed a starting point. :)

Congrats to the winners. That is really awesome. I try to engage as much as possible. It usually falls off a bit on the weekends, but during the week I am pretty consistent.

I wish I was able to be more active in general but it's extremely difficult sometimes. My work schedule is weird so I can't really expect having more than 1 day off per week and I usually don't have enough free hours to spend them being active on here. I'll just have to grind whenever I can and do as much as possible with the limited time I have.

Yeah, all you can do is what you can do. Perhaps one day many of us will be able to have Hive and Leo be our full time job. Until then, we just have to make do where we can!

That is very true. I don't want to quit my job though, and I wouldn't do it even if LEO & Hive was up to $1K or whatever. I would just work a lot less, but I love my job too much to quit.

Congratz to the winners.

How many participants were you realistically aiming for? From what I saw on your random number generator, there was 10 during the last round.

The screenshot from the random generator was actually not accurate. I used the generator and sent the prizes before I remembered that I should have included them within the post.. :D

To answer your question though, I can't really say that I was aiming for any set number of participants as it would depend a lot of myself. As in how many articles I published and how many people actually saw them etc.

I would say that I am satisfied with the overall results, but having a handful of more participants wouldn't have been too bad.

That is awesome & exactly what I am striving for! :)

Once people truly realize the extreme importance of engagement things will be different around here. I'm just trying to push people a bit in the right direction. :)

Let's see if you ever will get a second reply on a follow up comment from that account. ;)

Yeah.. I haven't seen more than 1 or 2 follow-up comments from that user so far, but who knows.. Anything can happen. :)

Lets talk.

How's crypto perceived in your country by both the government and the people?

Awesome question!

I would say that most people ignores it completely and skatteverket (Swedish Tax Agency) makes things very difficult for us, but Kronofogden (The Swedish Enforcement Authority is a government agency in charge of debt collection, distraint and evictions in Sweden.) has actually started to SELL bitcoin they have seized from people, so I think we're moving in the right direction.

I was looking around for a contest to participate and I come across this, I believe this initiative is a start of something beautiful. Engagement matters to keep the platform active and that's exactly what you're aiming at.

Well, I have several ideas in mind on how I want- or can take this to the next level with time, so this is just the starting phase. :)

Nice to see that you try to motivate people to engage more! Of course, the extra LEOs are real sweet as a price and I think everyone shall try to get a ticket on every post you make. Thanks for the opportunity.

Sure thing! I'm happy to give something back to the community and this is only the beginning of the things I have planned. We're starting slow. :)

I am very new to Leo Finance and would love to participate. Another hint to encourages true beginners would be to write a really comprehensive and easy to read guide for LeoFinance and Hive. Although I have been here for days, even weeks, I still do not really get the system of wallets... ;)

Thanks indeed I really did and it was one of my second (not first) stops, but unfortunately either the information is so well hidden there or it just is not there :/

I'm sure you can find the information you're looking for, but if not. Just ask. I'm sure there are people out there willing to help. Including me. :)

Thanks for your kind offer! It starts as early as how to get started, understanding the reward system, all that kind of stuff ;)
-As I saw leopedia is more on technical aspects. That is something I got, but the rest...

Oh, I see.. Well, there are a bunch of articles that covers most of those things. I don't have any links for them right now though, but I might be able to find some of them.

The LeoFinance Discord channel is another, perhaps the best, place to ask those types of questions though.
