What's Happening and What Images are People Looking For.

Well it looks like the community account is definitely coming into use! I had originally just envisioned pinning a couple of posts for the index and information on the community and the rest would be people dropping the occasional post with images for use. How naive! It seems there was much more interest than I had anticipated and the opportunity to find more ways to reward our photographers and artists suddenly seemed a no brainer if the account was brought into use.

So firstly I'm going to thank all the Hivers sharing their images and using those images while bringing attention to their creators. So many of you have been supportive and excited to see the community succeed. I won't name names, because I fear missing someone out, but hopefully you know who you are. Your enthusiasm means a lot to me. A huge thanks also goes to @acidyo and @ocd for their support of the project which will allow us to send even more rewards towards the creators sharing here. Then a special thanks goes to sweet @crosheille, who will be putting out the first curation post very soon. She's a life saver, because it's been hectic for me recently and I've still to teach myself how to use Canva yet.

What Images are People Looking for?

I had a post pinned asking this question, but didn't really get many responders. It can be hard to know what kind of images people are wanting to use. Picturesque images are lovely too look at, but sometimes we're writing about things that are more specific and don't necessarily call for something pretty, so it may be something quite unusual that petite are looking for. For example, when discussing pollution and waste, the author might want an image of rubbish, dirty streets, houses or beaches.

Images that are often requested are depictions of emotions. I realise this isn't as easily shared photography wise, due to legal issues around model releases. However, this isn't just a community for photography, we welcome and indeed encourage artists to share their images too. There are So many photographs being submitted that I hope the other artists don't think it's only photography we accept. We love you all!

So let's get some image requests on this list:

  • Emotions
  • Education
  • Historical or old buildings and architecture
  • Fantasy images, including old style weapons
  • Finance (including notes and coins)
  • General use decorative dividers

Please join in and add suggestions in the comments. What Images have you recently used in your content and what types of images do you struggle to find open source?

Many thanks to @lifeskills-tv for the image and adding the banner. Also thanks to @sitaru for the Hive bee image we use and @cryptosharon for the divider.

Hi! I love this idea!
I have been sharing my images with platforms like pexels etc..
How is this process taking place? Simply by posting images and its category/ies in this community?
I will be very happy to contribute and spread the word too!

Yes, you can post in the community, which is the easiest way to be found, and using the tag #hivestockimages also gives permission to use images in your post on Hive. This post covers things a bit more thoroughly. If you have any more questions please feel free to ask and tag me so I don't miss it.
