Why we introduce fees now, what services are affected, and how the fee tiers work.

Introduction

This post explains the new commission (fee) system for HiveP2P / HiveCubaDeV. Due to a sustained drop in the HIVE price (below the haircut threshold), reduced external support, low activity on exchanges, and fewer HP delegations to regular contributors, we must implement fees to sustain the services that the project provides.

Services covered by the fees

• HiveP2P Telegram Bot — P2P matching and messaging.
• HiveCash — offline HBD wallet and management tools.
• DApp — decentralized P2P exchange for HIVE and HBD.
• API services — payment verification, invoice issuance, and developer tools used by Cuban projects.

Additionally, we are developing a cross‑chain protocol that will include other networks; this requires research, deployment, and testing resources.

Why fees are necessary now

Operating costs are no longer covered by curation rewards and the current delegated HP. Monthly infrastructure costs are 24 HBD (three VPS and contracted API services). With current curation income, HIVE price and delegated HP, the project reaches 16.117 HBD (≈312.96 HIVE per month), leaving a shortfall that developers have been covering personally. Fee policy (initial structure)

To keep services running and fair, we propose the following starting fee model. Delegators who support the project with HP receive discounts:

• No fees if you delegate at least 500.0 HP to hivecuba.p2p. 😁
• Otherwise, a fixed fee applies per transfer:
  • 0.05 HBD (fixed)
  • 0.97 HIVE (fixed)

Plus a variable percentage based on how much HP you have delegated to hivecuba.p2p:

• < 50 HP: + 0.6%
• ≥ 50 HP: + 0.5%
• ≥ 100 HP: + 0.4%
• ≥ 200 HP: + 0.3%
• ≥ 300 HP: + 0.2%
• ≥ 400 HP: + 0.1%

This percentage is added to the amount you send, or deducted from the amount you receive, depending on the transaction direction.

Example calculation (conceptual)

• Sending 10 HBD and delegating 30 HP: fee = 0.05 HBD + 0.6% of 10 HBD = 0.05 + 0.06 = 0.11 HBD added to the transfer.
• Receiving 50 HIVE and delegating 150 HP: fee = 0.97 HIVE + 0.4% of 50 HIVE = 0.97 + 0.20 = 1.17 HIVE deducted from the received amount.

Adjustment and transparency

Fees will be adjusted according to:

• HIVE market price,
• total HP delegated to hivecuba.p2p,
• external support and donations.

Our objective is to keep the service cost as low as possible — ideally returning to zero fees if conditions improve. We will publish periodic updates and the on‑chain statistics so the community can verify income vs. costs.

Best practices and recommendations

• If you value the services, consider delegating HP (500 HP removes fees).
• Prefer transparent projects: we will publish how delegated HP and fees are used.
• For developers needing API access, contact the team to discuss volume discounts or partnership terms.

The fee system is implemented at the service layer (bot, DApp, API). Fees are calculated per transaction before broadcasting. Delegation status is checked on‑chain to determine applicable discounts. All changes and metrics will be auditable via public account statistics.

Explicamos la nueva política de comisiones para HiveP2P / HiveCubaDeV. Ante la caída sostenida del precio de HIVE (por debajo del Haircut), la retirada de ayudas externas por la baja actividad en intercambios y la reducción de delegaciones de HP a usuarios habituales, es necesario establecer un sistema de fees que sostenga los servicios que ofrecemos.

Servicios que cubren las comisiones

• HiveP2P Bot (Telegram) — emparejamiento P2P y mensajería.
• HiveCash — billetera offline y herramientas para HBD.
• DApp — intercambio P2P descentralizado de HIVE y HBD.
• Servicios API — verificación de pagos, emisión de facturas y utilidades para desarrolladores cubanos.

Además, estamos desarrollando un protocolo que abarcará otras redes, lo que implica investigación, despliegue y pruebas que requieren recursos.

Motivo económico

El costo mensual actual de infraestructura es 24 HBD (3 VPS y servicios API contratados). Para mantener los servicios y ser justos con los usuarios, proponemos este modelo inicial. Los delegadores reciben descuentos:

• Sin comisiones si delegas al menos 500.0 HP a hivecuba.p2p. 😁
• Si no, se aplica una comisión fija por transferencia:
  • 0.05 HBD (fija)
  • 0.97 HIVE (fija)

Más una porcentaje variable según la HP delegada a hivecuba.p2p:

• < 50 HP: + 0.6%

Buenas prácticas y recomendaciones

• Si usas y valoras los servicios, considera delegar HP (500 HP elimina comisiones).
• Preferimos proyectos transparentes: publicaremos cómo se usan las delegaciones y las comisiones.
• Para desarrolladores que necesiten API, contactarnos para discutir descuentos por volumen o acuerdos.
