Hello everyone, how are you today? I was not planning to Visit LUFASI NATURE which was organized by a subgroup of Teach for Nigeria. My friend came to my house at 8:00pm and woke me up to go for a visit.
Though I was aware of the visit I had the intention of not going, when my friend came to my house early in the morning, I had no choice but to join them.
I took my bath, and we headed to the center; we spent three hours on the road before.
The moment I entered the venue, I saw this on their signboard, LUFASI NATURE.
Thank you @liketu for this contest also, I was able to turn this my visit to contest.
My tier for this contest is amateur

We did little exercise before we toured the whole area. I did not know how to play table tennis and draft. Hence, I joined another group to participate in football.
IMG_20220625_122011_232.jpg I was in a good team and we ended the game 8-2 in favor of my team.
While we are playing football, some are playing draft, table tennis, chess, ayo olopon, and monopoly.
I really wanted to learn ayo olopon that very day but I had no time and i did not have interest in the game. When my friend called me to teach me how to play the game. After I lost one to him, I gave up on learning the game.
Well! I do see how old and young people developed interest in this ayo olopon, i just wanted to feel that that was the reason i wanted to play.

While others were playing games and I was tired after playing football for an hour, I got tired. I went to a small lake beside where we sat down and took a picture of the lake.

This is the stagnant water the ducks are swimming. When I watched them for a few minutes, I saw some of the ducks swimming inside the stagnant water.

I saw ducks at the side of the lake. I took a picture of the ducks. When we were eating, the white duck did not compete with other ducks while others were rushing to eat and my friends said, “this white duck is a big man” because I did not want to hustle to eat. Most of the ladies with us said they love the white duck.

There was a place where they used plastics to draw fish on the wall.

I got there and watched the whole art for five minutes before I took the picture. The down structure represented net and foods to capture fishes.
In the ancient world, fishing was their major occupation, that is the reason you could see a painted picture with a man paddling the canoe, and a man climbing a palm tree.

The manager assigned a woman to take us round the lufasi nature environment. When the manager came to us, he introduced himself and told us something about the environment.
He said, it is not allowed to beat animals here or stone them.
When the woman came, he took us to the donkey apartment, and she showed us about five donkeys. According to him, she said donkeys are really decreasing in our environment because some people kill them for meat. The best thing is to make sure they preserve the little one we have so that it will not become extinct in our environment.

There are two house departments; the first department is riding it in that environment. There is a place to rent houses there if you have your money.
The second place, the horses, are for competition. The horses are rented and taken to competitions.

She took us to an art area, where I saw the pictures of iconic men and women who were the leaders in the country.

this is moremi art

One of them was called moremi, who donated herself for the town to be peaceful. There was a problem everywhere in those days, there was no peace in the town, and the only solution was human sacrifice. No one was ready to sacrifice himself or herself except moremi who voluntarily donated herself for the sacrifice. It was a sacrifice that the person who sacrificed himself or herself will surely die. That was how moremi became a public figure in my country.

The other art works in the art section

She took us to a tortoise that was 150 years, she called the tortoise"s name mama T. I could not go near the tortoise but took the picture from where I was standing. This is the biggest tortoise I have ever seen face-to-face. I only watch big tortoises from movies, it was so big.

He took us to different species of monkeys, the one I remember was the one they brought from China, and his name is Alex. Because of the heartbreak he suffered, he doesn’t want to see man and woman together. The moment he sees a man and woman together, he gets angry.

Alex

We never believed what she said until we tested it. There were volunteers who came out to hold themselves as husband and wife. The monkey was angry from the net.

WE HEADED TO HOODED VULTURES OF LUFASI

IMG_20220625_142253_887.jpg

Well, I did not see any birds here but only the poster. I learned that the birds fled since there was nothing to hold them there. These birds were there a few years ago but cannot be found there today.
She said, though we do see some of these birds sometimes coming back here to spend winter here and the moment the winter is gone, they are also gone.

This was when we headed to EKKI FOREST ADVENTURE

Couldn’t capture any real birds but hearing their voices from afar. Some of these birds were there but I could not see them but only heard voices.

According to the woman who was carrying us around the forest, there were buffalo here some years back. But today none could be found again.

This pond was full of a variety of fishes both big and small.
