Let's make 'mung bean kevili' which is a very delicious type of sweets unique to Sri Lanka which is made for the New Year season.

How are you guys, good night as always dear friends. Sweets are something that is made in almost every home throughout the month of April. Among them Kawum and Kokis are traditional Sri Lankan sweets prepared during the New Year. These rituals are followed to purify the body and mind and bring prosperity and luck to the home. Common rituals include lighting an oil lamp, boiling milk and preparing traditional sweets, so people perform these rituals no matter how busy they are. Today I am going to talk about the mung bean kevili that I made. Let's see how to make it.

Ingredients;
⚫️Mung bean 100g.
⚫️rice flour 100g.
⚫️Wheat flour 50g.
⚫️Sugar 250g.
⚫️2 pods of cardamom.
⚫️1 cup of water.
⚫️1/2 Teaspoon of turmeric powder.
⚫️Salt to taste.
⚫️coconut oil 500ml.

Method of making;
1 step.
First, wash and clean the green beans, dry them and fry them on low heat for about 10 minutes. As in the following pictures.
2 step.
Then put the fried green beans in a blender and blend it until it becomes powder.
3 step.
Then fry the rice flour and wheat flour for 3 or 4 minutes and put it in other bowls.
4 step.
Then take a bowl and keep it on low heat, after heating add 250g of sugar and mix. Meanwhile, after the sugar dissolves, add a cup of hot water and mix the gravy. At the same time, add half a teaspoon of salt. Prepare it like a sugar melted . The image below will be clear.
5 step.
Then add rice flour, wheat flour and mung bean flour to the sugar mixture and stir well. Make it into a thick paste.
6 step.
Then thin the prepared mun paste on a thin board or a thin container as follows.
7 step.
Then cut the mun paste prepared on a thin as shown below.
8 step.
Then again take about a cup of wheat flour and put it in a container and put half of turmeric powder 2/1 teaspoon and need to water and stir it well and prepare it as a thin liquid to the required amount of water.
9 step.
Then put the pieces of them in the yellow solution mixed with flour and fry them in coconut oil as shown in the pictures below.
Now the delicious mung bean kevili' is ready. It takes a big time. But everyone at home was served as well as guests. So I will meet tomorrow with a new dish. Have a good day.
