Photography of Jethavanarama, stupa in Anuradhapura - sri lanka.

Welcome My Hive Friends,
Jetavanaramaya, is a historic stupa located in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. It is one of the largest stupas in the world and holds considerable religious and archaeological importance.
It is one of the largest stupas in the world with archaeological importance. Also, this stupa was built using bricks and clay and has a huge dome structure. And it is considered that the construction here started in the 3rd century BC. It was during the reign of King Mahasena. The archaeological department states that it should be approximately 122 meters (400 feet) high.

And the story here is that this stupa is closely associated with Mihindu Ma, an ancient Buddhist monk who brought Buddhism to Sri Lanka during the reign of King Devanampiya Tissa. Relics including a piece of Buddha's collar are believed to be enshrined in the stupa. As a result, Jethavanarama became an important place of pilgrimage for Buddhists.
