This Power Failure Stood Out For Me

Light governs everything we do in life, have you ever imagined how the world would have been if there is nothing like light? No wonder from the story of creation God had to speak forth "let there be light" before he continued with his work of creation.

Most times at home I have argue with my husband for the most important between light and water, personally I chose light and he chose water. There are different ways I can lay my hands on water but for light when there is a total outrage it becomes so stressful and difficult for me to cope. I don't really find it easy to take my gadgets to a business center to get it recharged because I always calculate what if there is a mismanagement of the center and my gadgets becomes a victim of circumstance. Not to long ago someones phone was moved from a business center close to our place of residence. The center is this GLO Mask plant and the care takers decided to get some extra money. Now they converted the security house to be a charging room. I have never been comfortable taking my gadgets there but do that in despirate situations. This day came and the police was called on the security man in charge of the place because people's phone has reportedly missed from there.

Not too long ago, there was a general maintenance in my city that resulted to a total blackout for about one week. This was not easy at all because everything around me was affected and worst of it was that it was holiday season.

Due to my schedules, to be able to give my family good meal and at a good time I thought it wise to prepare my meals ahead of time so that makes deep freezer a necessity for me. Most times I take out the whole day to shop at least once in two weeks and the next day I spend in preparing different soup and stew. When am done with the Preparation I stock them up in the freezer and that will take us for about two to three weeks unless I have more visitors it stays less than three weeks. So, this particular power failure that took a while I already made plans to stock the freezer because the previous was already finished. The outage already stayed for two days so I was thinking it was going to be restored the third day so I went to the market to buy some things and was waiting for the light to be restored before I prepare the dishes. To my dismay till days it was not restored. Now I had no option than to prepare one soup at a time and keep warming it for the next three days till it got finished. The second day of warming it the taste was already gone and so on.

This Insidence lasted for five days more after I went to the market, my freezer was already defrozed and the ice pack already turned to normal water. Well, I had to take the opportunity to clean up my freezer and change the ice pack because it was already weak.

The second stress I passed through during this time was that it had to take me more time with my children because there was no cartoon to keep them busy because there was no light and they had to be on me Everytime.

What do you say to my online Community, there where day I didn't get to make post because my phone and power bank was not charged and if I get a little time to charge many things are already waiting to get my attention. Those days it happened that there was a construction going on along the major road to my city that disrupted most of the electric pools and due to poor maintenance they got damaged beyond repairs, that warranted they go for maintenance at that time.

Light is good, and it is my wish that I get to lay my hands on alternative means of power supply which will help to reduce the stress I go through when something happens to the electricity. At least if I have like three alternatives it will go a long way.
