#LOH288: SCHOOL NA SCAM: How Do I correct The narrative!

(Edited)

Hello ladies, been a while, I'm glad to hop into this, it's amazing to see that our community is still striving all that is happening, kudos to all community moderators and judges and to @yechee big shout out to you dear.

we live in an economy that seems to trivialize the validity of education, it use to baffle me when I see graduate after spending years in school, going through all the stress of study, night classes, spend money, do all that is necessary only to come out and realise every where is blank: there are no jobs, the few once available came with over head requirements that are far from the reach of a young graduate.

I would think it's an overhyped slangs that gain popularity in the Nigerian system especially among the youth. because at the time it was too obvious that school was a scam, seeing that others who had gone to university came out are not better than those who didn't, as a matter of fact those that went to school will finish come back began to begin learn one form of trade or involved in business just like their contemporaries who didn't. so you balance the equation and will find out that they are not wrong saying that.

not only that I've also come to witness this as a young graduate, it's now dawn on me the fact, you seriously need connection now to get a job, you must know someone that knows someone to link you up to a big oga, the era of just your degree alone is far gone.

but well that's just on the side, personally education has widen my scope, exposures and enlightenment in various areas of life, what they don't know is there's an added advantage going to school does to a person, there's a level of intellect, wisdom and understanding that street wisdom alone can't guarantees.

no matter how rigged the system is there is an advantage going to school, school is really not a scam, it pays to be educated, there are certain doors and certain places you can't get in without the level of exposures and knowledge

some have also argue that as far as you have enough money you can buy your way out of school, obtain any certificate and avoid the process and procedures, but that's a lie, you can go so far, but there will come life test that you can't escape, things can look rosy at first but along the line the real value if education will be needed.

due to the kind of society we find ourselves and the reality of things how can i convince an average Nigerian youth out there the truth about going to school, to let go of the easy life, the hookup lifestyle, the yahoo boy lifestyle, now everyone is into content creation and making millions how can they think school to what end exactly?...

this has turned into a habit that makes the youth neglect pursuing higher education instead venture into other means of survival.

it's obvious the society has made it obvious and validate their believes that school is scam just a few of these youth actually understand and with the help of parents still push foreward to even finish first degree....

in the end school pays

In reality we all need some level of education to function, but the Nigerian educational system is why we always say school is a scam

In other parts of the world where systems are built to encourage students and teachers to continue with their dreams, you would hardly find anyone parroting "school na scam."

That should prove to us that education itself is a rich decision. It only loses it's credibility when it's not valued in one's immediate environment. It's comforting to know that regardless of the poor outcomes of studying in your country, you have decided to see the advantages of formal education. I hope it opens doors for you in the future. Enjoy the rest of your day.
