Back2Memorylane: Are we loosing Our societal Morals?
do you still remember your childhood days vividly clear like it was yesterday?, do you still remember running in the rain, shouting and chasing each other , playing in the sand, do you still remember hide and seek. police and criminals, mummy and daddy?, recall how we built our dream sand castle with our foot, cooked our own food with tomatoe tin.
I still miss those days in the village, I would lay on the cold earth staring at the stars, most night i slept off there, only to be awaken later at night by the sweet hot sand sensation of jellof rice in my mouth.
after mom finish cooking she would dish our food in all six plates and the eldest would choose first down to the last, when dad return late at night we would all go out to welcome him, we dare not keep the house untidy if not everybody will recieve a portion of the beating
Today all that has changed, these kids are taller, grow faster, a child of 3-4 years old can operate and Android device better than a 50 years old adult, indeed we're living in a different times, however the part that really concerned me is how our moral standards are quietly fading ....
it's true history repeat itself but now I think we're experiencing a completely new shift in human existence
we live in a generation of moral decadence, gradually our values and dignity as a people of rich cultural heritage is fading out, as civilization and urbanization increases so does our societal values and norm diminishes
the western art and culture is taking over and I guess in the nearest future what we call culture would be found only within the four walls of the museum
growth is a good thing, imagine what Ai is helping us do, who could have thought this would have been possible and if history is the right angle to view the future then imagine what will become of the generation to come in the next 50-100 years.
f
how then do we preserve our culture as a people, I still revered certain trybe in my country from how they train and raised their young ones you're sure of the preservation of their rich cultural heritage.
I still doubt the place of respect, societal Morals and modesty, cause right now it seems life is lived on everyone terms.
