Missing The Good Old Days....

Today I stumbled on this photo in my gallery. These are three of Nigeria's finest leaders. During their tenure, there were fewer things you could worry about; outing was not one of them.

Today's reality is quite the opposite; here we're at a crossroads again,

Before this current administration came to power, I would almost bet my life that people are not foolish; the pain, the hunger, the cost of living have taught us a great lesson. I was wrong.

Humans will never learn, not when poverty is involved

I wrote a post about how those in power can use poverty as an infrastructure to keep their followers who are loyal to them perpetually poor because, at that point, money becomes a mechanism of buying loyalty; all that matters to a poor man is the money, satisfying his hunger and securing the next meal; this is a trap.

Today I saw a live program of the ruling party; it was the party's stakeholders' women's convention. The highlight of the convention was about creating high-impact awareness for the party and a second coming of the president.

I mean, every citizen could feel the weight of what was on us. Then someone who caused all this is coming back to say, " Re-elect me again for a second term then you ask him why you should do that, and then he starts speaking English that means nothing in reality.

Yesterday I saw a post about a governor in the East who removed his shoe in a public gathering and said it's a product made in the same state, not worth more than a few thousand. There's another case where, some time ago, there was a controversial claim that a governor in the South wears a shoe that is worth millions; meanwhile, people are barely surviving. These are two different cases of leaders in the same country.

This is my conclusion: a time will come when those in power will no longer be able to steal money because, by the time they see the results of what from thier counterpart in politics, they will be scared of a revolt and will be forced to initiate the same process.

Soon they will start selling the same old story, using the same old technique and strategy. I wouldn't say if we've learnt from our mistakes or if whatever happens thereafter is just a game of selfishness; whatever is the case, I'll do my part and hope for the best.
