ONE-TIME HILARIOUS EXPERIENCE AT THE HOSPITAL

It was in the cool of the evening when my friend Desire and I walked out of the hospital premises, scared, looking back as we walked as fast as our legs could carry us, scared that we might be called back, scared that we might be shouted at....

Then like a miracle, we got to the gate. The security guy on duty looked at both of us anxiously, then requested that we show him our discharge notes... we did, but were still scared that we might be asked to wait back. Then boom, the officer, now relaxed, waved us goodbye with a smile on his face that made us look perplexed at each other....

as we exited the big giant hospital gate, we looked at each other, with a big sigh of relief, like a miracle we looked back at what just happened

..we were outside ...I was literally the happiest man alive that day..... and more or so every time I recall our exit plan the night before 😆

The very hilarious plan with a crazy exit plan from a government hospital 'cause we have run out of money, with no hope in sight ' we were asked to pay for the days we spent in the hospital, among other bills...

I was hospitalized, scheduled for an operation, and after which I ended up spending up to a month. The good news is that I was under a student health insurance scheme, which I'm still grateful for cause if not, I'm not sure I would have been able to afford the enormous bills ....

We were told that the insurance only covered the operation and some other expenses, so we still had to pay for some others like purchasing blood and some drugs and medication, including bed times....

During and after the operation, we spent a lot of money, and there was literally no hope in sight. While I waited until my days of discharge, we were informed that we would pay for the days we stayed at the hospital cause that wasn't covered in the insurance...

So that night, while we were taking a stroll outside, we came to a low fence, and my friend suggested that at night, while everyone was asleep, we should come over here and scale the fence so we could escape cause we had run out of funds.... but then we just slept off till morning, what now?....

Doctors came in the morning and wrote down some prescribed drugs that we needed to buy, which were not available in the hospital as a pos treatments for me, and wrote down that discharge note for us, so it was time to leave. We thought maybe the nurse in charge of the ward I was in would call us back, but she didn't. We exited the main building, ill feeling; maybe somebody would call us back to come settle those bills; nobody, till we got to the gate and after being checked by the security officer and stepped outside for the first time in a month...I felt relieved, and the smile on my face that day and our exit plan the previous night will last a very long time.
