This topic is extremely complicated to explain and, of course, to develop, since either option is valid, each with its own arguments, but choosing one is difficult. I'm going to try to see if the realities are similar or different, based on my experience with people around me who, for some reason, fulfill the main characteristic of this topic here in the @indiaunited community in the #iucontest to help us understand personal behavior a little better.

I honestly don't believe that money changes people because each of us, perhaps due to upbringing or some other specific reason, is the same in our behavior towards our environment. Perhaps what could change, in my opinion, is the environment itself, because depending on the amount of economic resources one has, the way we are treated can vary considerably, which at a certain point could affect us a little, but for someone with a defined personality, it doesn't change much.

On the other hand, when a personality is already somewhat egocentric and superior, and we add to that the power that money grants, it undoubtedly amplifies what we always were deep down. To be accepted in a social, work, or any other environment, we modify ourselves to fit in. But when we no longer need anyone's approval, as a good friend of mine would say, the masks fall away, and we show ourselves to the world as we truly are.

For example, I had a good friend (I haven't spoken to him in years) from childhood. We studied together practically from elementary school through university. Then we each went our separate ways (his family had far more financial resources than mine). He studied abroad (he still lives and works there), while I stayed here in Venezuela. I graduated, but I don't work in that field right now (nor do I plan to). Instead, I'm trying to develop myself in what I'm truly passionate about, which is working in house construction. At the same time, agriculture also fills me with pride, and I'd like to have the opportunity soon to acquire land where I can plant and harvest my own food. But anyway, what I'm getting at is this: I know that if I need your help at any time, I have it because even though it's been more than 20 years since we last saw or spoke to each other, nothing has changed for us. I still know there's a possibility of a reunion and to relive those happy moments when we were children. There's a sign that wealth doesn't reveal anything new if we have a solid foundation in terms of education.
