Baby Yoda drawing in watercolor.

Hello everyone, my first post in the community and I think it will fit nicely in here.
I decided to draw baby Yoda in watercolor to dust off my watercolor skills - haven't done anything in mostly watercolor in years. It turned out I was quite rusty but it is what it is and I hope you enjoy the drawing as much as I did creating it, it was a ton of fun. I used a few different references from pinterest for the character.

Sadly I forgot to snap a few pictures during the initial sketch so I got it from about half way done:

It is also my first time doing a stretched paper and the masking tape thing for a frame so a lot of experimentation going on (ignore the gnarly cardboard cutout it was all I had lying around my home). I started with doing the space because if it did not work I would have had to scrap it and start over, but to my surprise it worked out nicely, at least in my opinion that is. I am open to any suggestions or tips on improving, they will be much appreciated.
Since the space was ok I started with the colors in the character and adding a little color for the landscape and foreground.

The foreground was looking a bit empty so I decided to add some rocks/rocky texture just as an accent, I am not sure how I did on that it is another thing I am doing for the first time. The face gave me a real headache. I think it is because the paper I used is only 25% cotton I got some nasty scratches and tears when I tried going in for the fine details with my colored pencils. I am used to sharpening them to a fine point but I guess it was a mistake for this paper? Anyway I switched to some fine liner and it worked out better.

I am really glad with the final result I hope that some of you will like it too. Once again any constructive criticism is welcome being on the character itself or the technique all is wellcome.
