Home Education Curation Collection. 17th February 2024

We didn't have a large spread of authors posting this week, but there were some good, simple ideas shared, which might help to expand on activities for our HomeEdders.

First up though, not so much an activity as some thoughts on the drive behind children learning. Traditionally schools have gone for a reward and punishment based way of encouraging learning, but as @romeskie points out, this isn't necessarily the best approach to feeding children's intellectual appetite.

Something to keep hands and minds busy comes from @taliakerch in the form of quilling. Is this something you've tried with your little ones yet?

From @emmaris we have some creative activities one of which helps with reading and colour recognition.

At @leomarylm's they've been doing some coding activities. There are two ideas for different ability levels, although I'm sure the easier one would be just as enjoyable for the more advanced student and maybe the less advanced one would enjoy the challenge of the other as well.
