Home Education Curation Collection. 21th April 2024

The community has been relatively quiet over the last two weeks, with only a handful of members consistently posting. As a result, this curation will include some older posts.

We appreciate everyone who helps build our community by sharing learning insights and interacting on others' posts. This week 5% beneficiaries for contribution to the HomeEdders community go to:

@romeskie
@taliakerch

I loved @romeskie's Art lessons idea, Coloring with Mother Nature, where she and her girl decided to study nature by experimenting with using natural materials like leaves and flowers to create art. Definitely they enjoyed the process observing nature's beauty.

@taliakerch tells us about her son's enthusiasm for learning using/reading encyclopedias. Vlad wanted to test his speed compared to animals like cheetahs, so they conducted an experiment from a nature book. They calculated his speed and compared it to various animals and I think this sounds like a fun thing to do. Besides, there are some Math calculations included which makes it an ideal activity to try out with older kids.

@arrliinn and her homeschooling kids were getting back into their routine after some disruptions, engaging in various brain-stimulating activities like language learning with Duo Lingo, puzzles, and memory games to keep their minds active. She also discusses the benefits of bilingualism and shares insights into their homeschooling journey.

In order to teach emotions to her little girl at home, @emmaris shared with us an easy to do activity she has created, emphasizing its benefits in stimulating cognitive development and fostering emotional awareness. Maybe you can try it too if you're having small children.

@kattycrochet shared with us last week some resources and activities for teaching English vocabulary, specifically focusing on sports. She describes how she engage her students by starting with prior knowledge, introducing new vocabulary through pronunciation exercises and flashcards, and utilizing online platforms for interactive learning. Maybe you can use her strategy when needed.

Thank you for joining us. This curation was brought to you by @missdeli and this week I have added @minismallholding as 10% beneficiary for the ongoing delegation support. Thank you!
