Happy Mothers Day to all our mothers celebrating it today! Belated wishes for anyone in the UK, or anywhere else where it has already been celebrated. This week there were lots of learning activities shared which incorporated puzzle type games to expand learning into different curriculum areas. As someone who loved my puzzle books growing up, it was great fun seeing them all.

First our usual thank you everyone who makes this community what it is. This week 5% beneficiaries for interaction and contribution to the HomeEdders community go to:

Not every country allows for homeschooling and even when they do, not all parents can provide it. This week @tomaspalomo shared a strategy they've been using for his daughter to learn her letters, but also shares how this strategy, which captured her attention better by using coloured pencils, was one that the teachers didn't like. Whether we agree or disagree with a teacher's stance, sometimes we have to compromise and work with them on our child's education. Have you ever dealt with this kind of situation? What are your thoughts on it?

It looks like @leomarylm's girls had great fun this week learning about plants, with some puzzle activities which incorporated literacy. I love the way she's made this into an attractive game.

Speaking of puzzles, @emmaris shares a wordsearch number search where the numbers have to be calculated from the sum before you can then search for them in the grid. A great little brain teaser for more advanced little mathematicians!

@virgilio07 has been teaching his toddler about food crops and which parts we eat of them. This child certainly won't be growing up thinking that peas grow in tins! Then this was topped off with puzzle activities which he made to accompany the lessons. Wordsearch anyone?

As creativity seems to have been something of a theme this week, @emimoron's post on creativity seems to be the perfect way to round up the curation. She gives us a variety of ideas to create situations and environments which will help get our children into a creative, problem solving mindset.
