Malaysia 2010 125th Anniversary of the Malayan Railway (KTM) 3 in 1 proof set

1 june 1885 marked an important milestone in the history of the Malaysian railway service as it was on this day that the first railway track commenced operation connecting Taiping to Port Weld ( Kuala Sepetang) in Perak.
In 1901, the British government intergrated all the state railway services known as the Federated Malay State Railway (FMSR). FMSR played a pivotal role in the development of the country's rail service. In the 1948, its name was changed to Malayan Railways (MR). On 1 August 1992, MR was changed to KTMBerhad following the government's decision to privatise the railway service.
Over the years, KTM continued to improve its service to the public. The train was upgraded from steam locomotives to the first electric diesel locomotive on 31 July 1957. The first Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) used for the KTM Komuter service commenced operation on 3 August 1995. In 2002, KTM received 20 units of Blue Tiger, the High Powered Electric Locomotive and 20 units of Dallan, also a high power electric locomotive series in 2005.
19 December 2009 marked another milestone for KTM Berhad when the Electric Train Set (ETS) which can reach the maximum speed of 160 km/h arrived and is scheduled for operation by June 2010. Infrastructure enhancements continue to take place. Single tracks have been upgraded to electrified double-tracking from Kuala Lumpur to Pelaburan Klang and Seremban to Ipoh. In addition, double tracking project are now being implemented on Ipoh - Padang Besar and Seremban - Germas routes. KTM Berhad will continue to make positive changes for the convenience of passengers and to remain relevant in Moving 1Malaysia.
