Malaysia 2014 Malaysia-China Diplomatic Relations 40th Anniversary 3 in 1 proof set
History of Malaysia China Diplomatic Relations:
"Let's us begin now to lay, stone by careful stone, the foundation of enduring and fruitful friendship."
These were the prophetic words of the former prime minister of Malaysia Tun Abdul Razak Datuk Hussein in his speech during his official visit of the people's republic of China in May 1974.
The visit established the defining moments when Malaysia became the first south-east Asian country to establish diplomatic relations with the people's republic of China. Malaysia and the people's republic of China's tier are rooted in its shared history where both nations have been trading partners since the 1400s. The strong relationships which have grown between our nations have enabled us to benefit from bilateral trade and investment.
Today the People's Republic of China is Malaysia's largest trading partner while Malaysia is the People's Republic of China largest ASEAN trading partner.
The strengthened relationship between our countries provides a strong foundation for co-operation in the coming decades
"Our two countries have proven to be good neighbours, good friends and good partners who go through thick and thin together."
Xi Jinping, President of the People's Republic of China.
