Craster Harbour, North East England - beautiful big skies on a super summers day walk

While on vacation in North East England last week we stopped in Craster one day. The harbour there was stunning.

The sky was beautiful that day - it was very warm, but there was a lot of cloud around, and looking out to sea the cloudscape was making the sky look mahoosive !

Craster is quite a quaint little harbour town.

There was lots going on; kayakers, people fishing, the lifeboat crew were out with their boat, and there were also a lot of tourists just enjoying the village and the scenery.

At the parking lot which was in a cool old quarry, there were a ton of butterflies on this beautiful bush. I took loads of pics, and this was the closest one to being in focus - better luck next time gadget !

We hadnt really intended to stop in Craster, but we were really impressed with it. It happens to be the place where you can park in order to walk to Dunstanburgh Castle - thats why we stopped.

The castle is of to the North from the harbour, around 1.5 miles walk.

There was a nice path along the coast to the castle, and with lots of sheep out grazing !

Above you can see the castle in the distance, and I'll cover it in another post, as there was lots to see there, so it merits its own post.

But I'm glad we got to see Craster, as otherwise we would never had heard of it, or realised it existed !

Well it was another new place for us, and one I'd recommend for the touring visitor ! The North East certainly has a lot to offer !
