Wednesday Walk - lunch time break from work to walk around the local sights

It was a beautiful late autumn sunny day here in Edinburgh, and I took time of at lunch from work to make the most of it and walk around some of the local sights !

As can be seen from the park above, there was not a cloud in the sky - totally lovely ! Although it was a tad cold, 12 degrees C.

I started out at the supermarket above, next to my work - I was needing a serious chocolate fix, so that was the first stop !

I then decided to walk around the block, which is close to a 2 mile walk. Above is a view over the rugby grounds for a nearby school - snapped over head height above a large hedge - came out not too bad.

Further down the road the autumn sun was casting long shadows through some fence railings making this car take on a zebra effect ! I might need to enter this into shadow hunters !!

I then dropped into Inverleith Park. At this time of year in Scotland, the angle of the sun is quite low which means on days like this we get lovely long shadows.

And here they are again from another angle !

I noticed this anti-climbing device above a gate in the park - quite pretty considering what its for !

And above is one of the buildings in the park that the local graffiti artists have taken a like too - sorry, it was totally in the shadows - not a great pic.

Across the road the sun was shinning on these football fields.

And further up I passed the Hogwarts school of magic, sorry, I mean Fettes College. Interestingly - JK Rowling is from Edinburgh and many things in Edinburgh influenced the Harry Potter books, so there is a chance that this building was part inspiration for Hogwarts !

Across the road from Hogwarts is the headquarters of Police Scotland in Edinburgh ! Quite a nice view over their football fields today !

And I quite liked the warning sign above that they had on their gate - quite clear to me !!!

And then the last main sight on the walk was the Western Infirmary - the main hospital on this side of Edinburgh.

They have a lot of construction on the go and I literally had to walk under their crane !

Well that was my Wednesday walk for this week. I was really glad to get out and get some fresh air and sunshine on such a lovely day today. I'm looking forward to checking in on the other posts from around the world - hope you all had a great Wednesday !
