ADDRESSING THE ROOT CAUSE OF UNPLANNED CHILDBIRTH AND CRIME

avatar

Right now, I’m so tempted to look at this from a religious standpoint, but I’d try my best to just make my point without being so one-sided about this topic. Children come as a result of two individuals, male and female, having sex or by simply combining their gametes together. In our world today, many things that were once considered abnormal are now seen as normal. The rate at which childbirth is increasing is something we should be happy about, but we find ourselves complaining about it for many reasons.

Some individuals engage in sexual intercourse without caring whether they might get pregnant, and when they do, they take care of the child however they like or, in worst cases, leave the child to survive on their own. That’s not the painful part; the painful part is when they continue to have children without care. That will keep going on until they can’t give birth to children anymore. It’s like they don’t even consider the consequences of their actions, and that’s what leads to so many social issues in our society today.

Personally, I’m against abortion, so that’s out of the equation. Young people today are more concerned about satisfying their sexual desires, resulting in an increase in childbirth in our society. Sadly, those who are legally married and ready for children often struggle to have them, while those who can’t provide a proper life for a child end up having many. It’s a vicious cycle, and we need to find a way to break it.

Many children end up on the streets, left alone to survive or lose their lives if they aren’t strong enough. To survive, they do whatever it takes, often leading to illegal activities, and that’s how crime in our society keeps increasing. Young minds are left to make decisions for themselves, and they often choose the wrong path, introducing it to their own children when they have them, perpetuating the cycle. It’s heartbreaking to see children who should be in school or playing with friends instead fighting to survive on the streets.

Looking at the rate at which crime has increased over the years, it’s not a bad idea for the government to step in and find a solution to this problem. However, the government shouldn’t dictate how many children to have but rather provide orientation to guide people in making informed decisions for themselves and society. Some people have unplanned children, but it becomes alarming when parents don’t take responsibility. We need to find a way to support those who are struggling and provide resources for those who need it.

If the government regulates childbirth, it would lead to more harm than good, as people will always make choices. Education is key; those on the streets need enlightenment, and provisions should be made to help them engage in positive activities. The government can help by providing job opportunities, free education, and skill acquisition programs for those on the streets. Focusing on those in need and providing support is crucial, rather than simply regulating childbirth.

They can come in by making job provisions, free education, and skill acquisition programs available to those on the street, without dictating the number of children each family should have, as there are individuals who give birth to children without having a family or getting married. We need to understand that every situation is unique and that we can’t just apply a blanket solution to everyone. We need to consider the individual circumstances and provide support accordingly.

Furthermore, we need to address the root causes of this issue, such as poverty, lack of education, and unemployment. We need to create opportunities for people to better their lives and provide for their families. We need to invest in education and healthcare, and we need to create jobs and stimulate economic growth. We need to work together as a society to find solutions to these problems, rather than just pointing fingers and blaming each other.

In conclusion, the issue of childbirth and population growth is a complex one, and we need to approach it with sensitivity and understanding. We need to provide support and resources for those who need it, and we need to address the root causes of this issue. We can’t just regulate childbirth without considering the individual circumstances and the consequences of our actions. We need to work together to find a solution that benefits everyone, and we need to start now.

This is my little response to the hivelearners topic on ”HOW MANY KIDS?”.

Children are a heritage of God and an arrow in the hand of their parents. But in our world today, sexual immorality have resulted into geometric growth in our population.

It is indeed sad to see that many children are not catered for because their parents did not count the cost before producing children.

I think the government should enact a law dictating how much a parent should support their wards.

Yeah, parents should be made to take full responsibility of their wards.

Thank you so much for your beautiful contribution 😊

It's so sad that we give birth to children but we can't cater for their needs, I think the government need to look for a way out for children who are not educated or are unemployed.

Yeah, those children needs attention because if they are let alone they will most likely cause a nuisance.

Thank you so much for stopping 🥰

Awesome and educative write-up ma
I agreed with you that young folks need to be careful and tame their sexual desires till they got married. Also, public enlightenment goes a long way and abortion been a no is a great one👍
Thanks for sharing this with us.

We have really good suggestions, it’s just the implementation that will be the problem 🫠.

Thank you so much for your contribution 🤗

Exactly we should give rise to the number of kids that we can care for. Without proper care and proper love for kids, they made them very compromised kids. Without engagement or marriage, here we are not allowed to give birth to any kid.

That’s a good one over there then but I guess most people might just end up getting married immediately they find out they are pregnant 🫠

As in ehn... Even in poverty, people will still be making babies with reckless abandon, hoping that somehow they'll be taken care of.

And that's how they end up with more kids than they can cater to.

Exactly, that’s the problem. So far we are forgetting those people on the street and thinking that will solve the problem.

Somehow that population is more because it’s not something that can be estimated.

It's sad that the many termed educated are the same ones falling into the trap of having unplanned kids. The sensitization of the populace might not make that much of a difference. A restriction to a particular number of kids per family or according to what you can handle might be foreign at first but come a long way to curbing these excesses.

The problem is, in most undeveloped countries that won’t work Because those on the streets as not well oriented and they will still end up producing more children.
