KIDS AND SCHOOLING

(Edited)

Yesterday, if you read my last blog, you will noticed I said something about following a mother go pick up her child from school. I was totally amazed when she told me her child who was two years old goes to school as early as 7:30am in the morning and closes by 4:30pm in the evening, I totally felt for the little boy. So many parents are also like this, they take their children to schools that will also babysit their children because of the nature of their jobs.

IMG_20220921_173133_8.jpg

The mother of the child is a clerk in an organization so she don't get the time to take care of her son well, hence she enrolled him in a day care when he was 3 months old and ever since then, the child only gets to see his parents in the evening and early in the morning. I can totally understand the reason why the parents are doing what they are doing but sometimes I just feel they should spend more time with their children at home and create more bonds with them than their teachers in school.

While growing up, even though I had no training from my mother as I should, I was always missing home because I had the best siblings ever. The comfort of being at home was something I so much crave for once I'm away and that made me worry for Children who have to go through so much stress of staying in a building for sure a long time all because of the situation they find themselves. But on the other hand there are advantages for children and such schooling process.

IMG_20220921_172946_8.jpg

Learn to be independent

Children who are subjected to such schooling process get the chance to learn how to think and solve problems on their own. As they go to school, they realize they are mostly on their own and this makes them very active and vibrant as time goes on.

Easy socialization

When children mingle more with their mates, it helps them to be easy going with them, they are not ashamed of talking to people, they are well out spoken because that is what they have been trained to do. While they were little, you will find out that the teachers always try to make them say what's on their minds, what they want and all that, this will help them with time to easily socialize with people.

Learn faster

As they keep learning from such young age, we will realize that with time they get used to learning things and this will help them even in real life situations. The fact that they are exposed to schooling at a very young age helps them to acquire knowledge earlier than usual and I think this is mostly good. You will find out that they are already problem solvers at a very young age, this can be really amazing to me most times, seeing a child so young and doing something in a very logical way.

In all of these advantages, like I have said earlier, there are also some obvious disadvantages of early schooling for children.

IMG_20220921_173026_8.jpg

Lack of communication with parents

These children might be close with their parents but not in the aspect of communication, they are most times secretive about some things because they don't have good relationships with their parents as a result of not spending too much time with them. Children are now closer to their teachers which were strangers than their parents and that's because they have made more bonds with their teachers and friends at school than with their parents because that is were they spend more of their time.

Hates staying at home

Most times as children gets accustomed to spending most of their time in school, you will realize they don't like being at home for too long, they always want to go out maybe with friends or even on their home but not in the house. Parents at this point, find it very hard to talk to their children because they are not willing to listen to them. Remember I said these children get to learn how to be independent, yes this is also a disadvantage for the parents because the children feel they can take care of themselves now.

Lack of proper home training

There is a saying that, "charity begins at home" and I totally agree with that because it is a fact. Yes, there are some children who are fortunate to learn good things outside the home but it is really hard to find such, especially in our world today. As children stay outside the reach of their parents for such a long time, it makes it really hard for them to learn anything from the home even though they do learn a few but not as they should.

Since early schooling has both advantage and disadvantages, that means there should be a way to balance this situation then. Below are some few things that I believe will help balance the situation;

IMG_20220921_173020_8.jpg

  • As parents who are in this category, always do well to intentionally create time for your children, give them the opportunity to create a bond with you even as they do in their schools with their friends and teachers.

  • Be an observant parent or guardian, don't overlook too many things because you might just end up regretting your actions of omission sooner than later.

  • Ask the children questions in love, let them feel comfortable around you, don't be too much of a disciplinary, always give them room to say what they have to say.

  • Outside going to school for such long hours, also take them out for a walk, to the market, the church and other places as well, give them the opportunity to know what you enjoy doing as well.

  • Be a good example to your children, for the few times they get to spend with you, always be at your best behavior. Be conscious of what you say and do, never ever take anything for granted because your children are always watching you. The little time you spend with them is an opportunity for you to prove yourself to them, whether or not they can trust you, so don't misuse the opportunity.

In conclusion

IMG_20220921_172840_4.jpg

Finally, the schools the children attend also play a very vital role in the well-being of the child. Always do a good investigation of the place which is the school you leave your child almost every single day, ask questions from other parents who still take their children there and be very calculative as well. You can do so much for your children even when you are not around them.

Thank you so much for reading 🌺🌺.

Desde temprano la educación tiene ventajas y desventajas, eso significa que debería haber una manera de equilibrar esta situación entonces. A continuación hay algunas cosas que creo que ayudarán a equilibrar la situación;

IMG_20220921_173020_8.jpg

This is really true of parents and kids relationship these days. I wrote a book I titled "At 18, home is boring". Most of these points here and facts are very much related to mine. Good work dear.

I think you made good points for both sides. I hopeschooled my children and am glad I did. I took them cross-country to discover the US which covered so many subjects, plus life! We went to 46 States in an RV.

We live in the Washington, DC area now and went to Congress, private tours of the White House, and the Library of Congress. Basically, all the buildings. I was fortunate to be able to do this.

I will admit my relationship with my children is close and we love spending time together, also, they were very involved in sports and clubs, so they are well rounded. I think everyone has to pick what works for them, but, no matter which way you do it, there are certain pitfalls or things you give up.

Great post!

Thank you so much Denise, I'm so glad to have you stop by 🥰. I so much love how you manage to create such an amazing bond with your children, that's really nice, you are surely a role model for my write up and I'm honored to have you here.

Indeed every parent has what works for them and I believe there are certain things that will work for everyone if they let it though.

Thank you once again for your great contribution Denise. Have a great day ahead ❤️.

You are right when you said they learn faster cause it's true. They are already exposed to learning from an early age.

Nice work 👍

Well, everyone picks what works for them. For most parents staying home and bonding only means they may not be able to provide for their children. So they choose the other part. It's great that the children get to learn positive traits like independency, and active learning.

You're absolutely right but they can all work to balancing these things and I have stated a few that can work.

Thank you for your contribution, I truly appreciate your presence here.

Nice nice point you just made, because most parents do not have time for their children sometime because of the their job, and they have given the responsibility to the house help. So because of that a lot of children find it difficult to relates with their parents.

That's right, it is understandable that their jobs don't let them take care of their children themselves but the problem is, even when they have time, they prefer to use it for other things.

Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving your comment dear, I really appreciate it.

Yes it's true, though my son started school at age 2 cause of the covid, at 2 years old he wasn't able to express himself until he started school.

That's understandable, I'm sure he will still do well. Children are fast learners, just make it fun for him.

Some great points, choosing a career over looking after your children seems popular today, it is even very much promoted everywhere. And many parents want to have some quiet time so are happy to send their children to school or daycare all day.

Part of the problem now is that the teachers are told what to teach, and it's more about indoctrination now more so than anything else, also, the parents being absent in their lives definitely does take a toll on the household.
This is an extremely good view of the issues with parents who work out of the home with small children @hopestylist

You got that right @jamerussell, there are so many things that can go wrong when little children stay away from their parents for too long.

Thank you so much for your contribution, I truly appreciate it ❤️.

I don't think early schooling offers the first nor second advantages. I totally agree with the third though.
