Heute habe ich einen Raubvogel aus Costa Rica für euch. Der Karibikkarakara ist ein falkenartiger Vogel, der im südlichen Nordamerika, in Mittelamerika und im nördlichen Südamerika beheimatet ist. In Marlow konnte ich diesen Karibikkarakara bei einer Flugshow im Vogelpark Marlow bewundern und fotografieren. Er ist ein einzigartiger Vogel und sein Gefieder hat mir besonders gut gefallen. Mit welch eine Leichtigkeit er sich durch die Luft bewegt und doch hat er alles immer im Blick, das hat mich doch sehr beeindruckt.

In Marlow, I was able to admire and photograph this Caribbean Caracara during a flight show at the Marlow Bird Park. He is a unique bird and I especially liked his plumage. Während der Flugshow im Vogelpark Marlow konnte ich nicht nur tolle Fotos von den Vögeln machen, sondern auch ihr unterschiedliches Verhalten beobachten. Besonders faszinierend fand ich die Jagdtechniken der Greifvögel wie dem Falken oder dem Adler. Sie nutzen ihre scharfen Augen, um ihre Beute aus großer Höhe zu erspähen und dann im Sturzflug zuzuschlagen. Aber auch die verschiedenen Arten der Vögel waren beeindruckend. Von kleinen Singvögeln bis hin zu majestätischen Eulen war alles vertreten. Jede Art hatte ihre eigenen Merkmale und Eigenschaften, die es zu entdecken galt. Insgesamt war die Flugshow ein tolles Erlebnis und ich kann es jedem Vogelliebhaber nur empfehlen, einmal eine solche Show zu besuchen.

I found the hunting techniques of the birds of prey like the falcon or the eagle especially fascinating. They use their sharp eyes to spot their prey from a great height and then strike in a dive. Gerade hier auf diesem Foto kann man die Merkmale des Karibikkarakara sehr gut erkennen. Es hat sehr viele Versuche gebraucht, bis ich so ein Foto geschossen haben. Darauf bin ich sehr stolz. Die Fotografie von Vögeln ist für Anfänger allerdings sehr schwierig und es gibt einige Dinge zu beachten. Zu nächste ist es wichtig, dass man sich auf das Wesentliche konzentriert und nicht versucht, alles perfekt in Szene zu setzen. Wenn man Glück hat, bleibt der Vogel stehen oder fliegt langsam genug, sodass man ein schönes Bild von ihm machen kann.
