Yesterday I published about the Korean series that transmits the Netflix platform "the squid game" that has had an unusual success around the world that has been seen in more than 90 countries.

Using this enormous popularity, a group of video game developers have launched an online game and created a token called Skid, which is based on blockchain and under the "play-to-earn" mode, which will serve as the basis for playing and collecting, of course.

A few hours later and catching up with the news about cryptocurrencies, I read that the most important video game company in Europe, the French Ubisoft, has set its eyes on the "play-to-earn" mode and is developing a plan to launch its own blockchain-based video games.

Not only will it be satisfied with that plan but it has also announced that it will invest in other similar companies that are promoting development under blockchain, in this context the French firm has mentioned that it has already participated in a financing round launched by the Hong Kong company Animoca Brands, a company that develops games and applications of the "free-to-play" type and that lately has focused on blockchain and artificial intelligence, the best known Animoca games are SandBox and CryptoKitties.

According to one of the main executives of Ubisoft, games based on blockchain and in the mode "play-to-earn" will bring more people to the world of cryptocurrencies, which in turn will enable further growth of the industry.

Ubisoft understands that these types of projects are still at an early stage and that is why they want to be among the first to venture into these new technologies and that is why they have advanced as a founding member of the Blockchain Game Alliance (BGA), conjunction of companies committed to video games and the blockchain.

Everything that involves the world of cryptocurrencies is evolving by leaps and bounds and the huge video game industry could not be on the sidelines of this true revolution.
