The utopias of web3 - Las utopías de la web3
Blockchain technology has come to break many paradigms that until now were believed to be immovable, in the same way as unwritten laws based on uses and customs.
This new form of decentralized registration where the approval or intervention of a control and management body is not necessary has unleashed a great movement towards a new form of commerce, services, and entertainment of all kinds. Although it is still somewhat chaotic, the growth is undeniable.
Among the new ideas and thoughts that blockchain technology has brought with it is the concept of web3, a new form of the internet where services are built within decentralized blockchains where they are no longer controlled and served by companies and corporations that today manage everything related to search engines, social networks, metadata, advertising, entertainment, and games, without forgetting, of course, another variant that was also thought of from this new paradigm but that has quickly been captured by those same corporations: the metaverse.
Web3 is an exciting and ambitious project.
Imagine accessing the Internet to search for information, talk or interact with other people, play, invest, and pay for electricity or gas without having to go through Facebook, Google, banks, or other companies that charge us a commission or simply appropriate our data for later use in targeted advertising or even worse, the sale of the same to third parties.
It sounds wonderful, but also unlikely.
It does not seem real but rather a utopia that our data returns to our power, that we can interact in any way without the powerful companies that today govern the web2 interfering or sitting idly by watching how energy and money slip away between the fingers.
Some thing that can likely be done in our Hive space is building a web3, but we know that it is limited, not perhaps in ideas, projects and applications, but in the global context of the crypto ecosystem, we are just a grain of sand in the desert and there is no sign, at least for now, that this could change radically shortly.
Let's also not believe that new thinkers, developers, and especially investors will want to build a web3 without taking something in return. As long as it is only a fair reward for their effort and dedication to the subject there would be no problems, nobody or very few work only for satisfaction and we know that the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
The illusion of a better web exists and will always exist, have the number you want, from the position that each one of us occupies within the ecosystem we deal with it, but we must also be alert, we do not buy colored mirrors or give our gold in exchange of trinkets.
La tecnología blockchain ha llegado para rompen muchos paradigmas que hasta ahora se creían inamovibles, de igual forma que las leyes no escritas basadas en los usos y costumbres.
Esta nueva forma de registro descentralizado donde no es necesaria la aprobación o la intervención de un organismo de control y gestión ha desatado un gran movimiento hacia una nueva forma de comercio, servicios y divertimento de todo tipo y aunque aun se observa un tanto caótico, el crecimiento es innegable.
Dentro de las nuevas ideas y pensamientos que la tecnología blockchain ha traído consigo está el concepto de web3, una nueva forma de internet donde los servicios estén construidos dentro de cadenas de bloques descentralizadas donde ya no sean controlados y servidos por las empresas y corporaciones que hoy en día administran todo lo relacionado con buscadores, redes sociales, metadatos, publicidad, entretenimiento y juegos, sin olvidarnos por supuesto de otra variante que también fue pensada desde este nuevo paradigma pero que rápidamente ha sido captada por esas mismas corporaciones: el metaverso.
La web3 es evidentemente un proyecto por sumamente interesante y por demás ambicioso.
Imagínense ingresar a Internet para buscar información, conversar o interactuar con otras personas, jugar, invertir, pagar el servicio de electricidad o gas sin tener que pasar por Facebook, Google, bancos u otras empresas que nos cobran una comisión o simplemente se apropian de nuestros datos personales para luego utilizarlos en publicidad dirigida o lo que es peor aún la venta de los mismos a terceros.
Suena maravilloso, pero también improbable.
No parece real sino más bien una utopía que nuestros datos vuelvan a nuestro poder, que podamos interactuar de cualquier forma sin que las poderosas empresas que hoy gobiernan la web2 se inmiscuyan o se queden de brazos cruzados viendo como el poder y el dinero se les escurre entre los dedos.
Es probable que algunas cosas se puedan realizar, de hecho, nuestro espacio Hive está construyendo una web3, pero sabemos que esta limitada, no quizás en ideas, proyectos y aplicaciones, pero si en el contexto global del ecosistema cripto, somos apenas un granito de arena en el desierto y no se vislumbra, al menos por ahora, que eso pueda cambiar radicalmente en un futuro cercano.
Tampoco creamos que los nuevos pensadores, desarrolladores y principalmente los inversores querrán construir una web3 sin llevarse algo a cambio. Siempre y cuando solo sea la recompensa justa por su esfuerzo y dedicación al tema no habría problemas, nadie o muy pocos trabajan solo por la satisfacción y sabemos que el camino al infierno está sembrado de buenas intenciones.
La ilusión por una web mejor existe y siempre existirá, tenga el número que quieran, desde la posición que cada uno de nosotros ocupa dentro del ecosistema lidiamos por ello, pero también debemos estar alertas, no compremos espejos de colores ni entreguemos nuestro oro a cambio de baratijas.
