Brugnello, the ancient village on the cliff!

In the westernmost tip of Emilia-Romagna, there is a wonderful valley called Val Trebbia, furrowed by an important river called the Trebbia. The landscape here is enchanting and offers anyone the chance to enjoy nature at 360 degrees, which is truly wonderful.

this valley takes you towards the interior of Italy, away from the Po valley, and into the heart of the Apennines, you will realise how the Trebbia river, with its winding and long courses, creates a sort of canyon that divides the valley in two. One of the most evocative places in the Trebbia Valley is this cliff, almost 500 metres high, from which you can admire a spectacular view of the entire valley and the river bed, which is very spectacular from my point of view.
The Trebbia Valley is an enchanted place, where nature reigns supreme and the landscape is breathtakingly beautiful. Its clear waters and lush forests offer countless opportunities for those who love hiking and enjoying nature.
In addition, the villages in the valley are rich in history and tradition and are ideal for those seeking a break from the stress of everyday life. If you love contact with nature and want to discover unusual places, the Trebbia Valley is definitely the place for you.

In this beautiful setting lies the village of Brunello, situated on top of a breathtaking cliff in the Trebbia Valley, a place with ancient roots. This medieval village, known since 580 AD, was for many years an uninhabited place at risk of depopulation. However, in recent times it has been revalued and rediscovered by numerous tourists and artists, who have chosen it as their home, to be at peace with themselves.

The enchanted village of the Trebbia Valley is a magical place, where time seems to have stood still, most probably chosen also for this reason by those who come to live here. Here, the old stone houses, carved into the rock and enhanced by artists who have contributed to their restoration, create a fairy-tale atmosphere that is very special, almost unique I would say. The alleys, the decorations, the ornate balconies, but especially I was very impressed by the carved wooden shutters blend together to create an unforgettable landscape. But the real attraction of this village is its church, perched atop a cliff, which offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding landscape.

Thanks to the renovation of the old stone houses and the opening of small businesses, and to this ongoing preservation of these places, the village of Brugnello has been reborn. Instead of becoming an abandoned place, this small medieval hamlet has become alive and lively again, and we can say this for luck!!! During my recent excursion to this enchanted place, I was able to discover the natural and historical beauty of the area. Hopefully, these pictures will give you a taste of the beauty of the village of Brugnello and invite you to visit it in person. This small medieval village, with its stone houses carved into the rock and its breathtaking views, is a unique place that definitely deserves to be discovered and visited in person.
