SATURDAY TRIP | Sanctuary of Chiampo (VI) - THE VIA CRUCIS | Part Five

In this post I will tell you about the last thing I saw at the Chiampo Sanctuary, the beautiful Way of the Cross, and conclude my experience in this holy place with this post.
The Chiampo Sanctuary, located in the province of Vicenza, is a place of great interest not only for the faithful, but also for those in search of a tourist destination rich in history, art and spirituality. In this article, I will tell you about the Via Crucis, one of the main points of interest of the Sanctuary, which I had the pleasure of visiting last Saturday and which I found a very interesting place.
The Way of the Cross, inaugurated in 1989, is one of the most evocative in the world due to the beauty of the works of art, the landscape setting and the silence that reigns supreme, encouraging meditation. The bronze sculptures present were created by six different sculptors: Fr. Nazareno Panzeri, Pierluigi Sopelsa, Fr. Tito Amodei, Br. Silvio Bottes, Renato Ischia, Franco Biasia, coordinated by Eng. Ferruccio Zecchin, who oversaw the overall project.
The location of the Way of the Cross within the botanical park, which boasts more than 700 different species of plants, makes the experience even more impressive. Above the Holy Sepulchre is a magnificent specimen of Lebanon cedar, from which Solomon's Temple was built. Approaching the Sepulchre, one almost feels as if entering the Garden of Olives, as at the Basilica at Gethsemane.
The Holy Sepulchre, enveloped in this evocative setting, is a faithful reproduction of the one in Jerusalem, both in form and structure, and is the work of engineer Ferruccio Zecchin. Completely covered in marble, like the large round stone placed at the tomb's closure, the interior houses the dressing room, where the bodies were prepared for burial. This room is also traditionally known as the 'Angel's Room', because on the day of the resurrection, the Angel of the Lord sat on the overturned stone and gave the glad tidings to the pious women.
