The End Of All Threat.

After getting knocked down mid-extraction, I replayed the boss fight, dodged attacks while tearing the cores out of the giant monster's heads. I cleared out waves of summoned followers between phases until all three heads were destroyed. With the main boss defeated, trapped souls began returning to their bodies across Tokyo, though Akito's glowing chain hinted at one final twist.

I was forced back to the cutscene where the Hannya was chanting on Mari. I wasn't totally sure which button skips the cinematic, so I started smashing everything on my keyboard until it finally skipped.

Once I was back in control, I didn't waste any time. Knowing exactly what I needed to do, I focused on dealing damage while keeping a close eye on my health bar so I wouldn't die again.

I managed to focus fire on one of the heads and ripped its core out. As soon as that happened, the main monster vanished from the arena and summoned a wave of followers to fight me instead.

I cleared out all the followers as fast as possible, which forced the main beast to reappear. It started thrashing around wildly like a dying animal, but I stayed aggressive, grabbed onto the second head, and destroyed its core too.
Right on cue, the monster disappeared again and sent out an even larger wave of followers to slow me down.

I handled the second mob, making sure to dodge incoming attacks and keep my health up. Once the followers were down, the boss showed up one last time, screaming out that he couldn't see and didn't want to die.

With only one head left, I hit him with heavy attacks, watching his health drop fast. I stayed patient, avoided his desperate strikes, and finally got close enough to yank out the last core.

With all three heads destroyed, the main boss of the game was officially defeated, leaving nothing behind but his empty mask on the ground.

With the threat gone, Akito walked straight over to Mari's body. Looking around the arena, all the trapped human souls started floating up into the air, heading back out into the city to return to their original bodies.

KK pointed out that everyone across Tokyo should start returning to normal now. Akito sadly noted that everyone except Mari would get their life back. Just as things seemed to settle down, Akito's chain suddenly started glowing brightly, signaling that something unexpected was about to happen.

Hi there. Great post! I wonder what will happen next as the glowing chain definitely means something!
And since you are into gaming, I’d like to invite you to try out Dungeon Cities game on Hive.
It’s a dungeon crawler RPG with a lot of exploration, strategy and PvP real-time battles.
Well, the concept ended next. Though I was hoping for more stories. And thanks for the recommendation, I'll definitely keep it in mind.
That second wave of followers looked like a proper test after the first phase. Keeping your health up and dodging instead of getting greedy was probably what made the difference this time.
The second wave looked much more demanding, and dodging instead of forcing attacks clearly paid off.
